Day 1 – Labuan Bajo: Embarkation (1-2 dives)We will meet you at the airport or your hotel and transfer to the harbour during the morning. Once onboard, you settle into your cabin, set up your dive gear and join the welcome briefing. In the afternoon we will do a check dive and a night dive if possible.Example dive sites: Sebayur KecilDay 2 – Central Komodo (4 Dives)Central Komodo offers a mix of colourful hard-coral slopes, manta cleaning stations, and calm bays ideal for macro photography. Currents here can be moderate, bringing excellent visibility and large numbers of reef fish. It’s a very diverse area: from classic drift dives over acres of coral gardens to calm sandy bottoms. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Pink Beach.Example dive sites: Tatawa Besar, Siaba Kecil, Manta Point, and Pink Beach (night).Day 3 – Central Komodo (3 dives)This day we will start the day with a hike to the iconic Padar Island viewpoint. Next we’ll continue diving in central Komodo. Batu Bolong brings its classic fish action, while nearby bays offer colourful corals and interesting critters.Example dive sites: Batu Bolong, Mawan, Wainilu (night).Day 4 – North Komodo (4 Dives)Gili Lawa Laut is one of Komodo’s high-adrenaline areas, known for strong currents and dense marine life. Expect reef sharks, giant trevallies, schooling surgeonfish and the occasional dolphin or whale shark. Reef hooks are commonly used at the main sites. At sunset time, we’ll do a trek to the viewpoint of Gili Lawa IslandExample dive sites: Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, The Cauldron, Gili Lawa DaratDay 5 – Central Komodo (2 dives)Two final morning dives offer beautiful reefs and one last chance to spot mantas. Onboard Wellenreng
Wellenreng liveaboard is a stunning wooden-hulled phinisi designed using specially selected teak throughout its beautiful interior. Just six guests call this vessel home, making for a surprisingly spacious setting - complete with all the comforts of a small boutique hotel at sea. You’ll enjoy year-round outdoor dining with a panoramic view, and delicious chef-prepared meals featuring an exotic blend of Asian and International dishes. Guests can also choose from a small selection of wine, beer, and cocktails once they’re done diving for the day, as well as free-flow hot and cold drinks, and all-day snacks. The salon is ideal for playing games, working on camera equipment, or just getting to know your fellow guests. For spectacular views, sun tanning or sunset cocktails, head to the observation deck.
Diving from Wellenreng
Divers and underwater photographers of all skill and comfort levels will be perfectly looked after aboard this vessel. The Wellenreng liveaboard is equipped with well-maintained rental gear, including computers, GPS beacons,15-litre tanks, and nitrox. A large ten-seater fibre-glass tender provides plenty of space and comfortable transfers to and from dive sites. Personal storage boxes are provided, as are dedicated rinse tanks and an air gun for cameras. The Wellenreng crew are happy to carry and wash guests’ equipment, offer additional support to photographers and videographers, and provide private guiding on request.
