If all divers arrive earlier, we can depart earlier with everyone's permission for a check dive.Days 2-7:3-4 dives per day, including a night dive if possible. Dive sites we visit include but are not limited to:Bunaken
Bunaken is a destination suitable for all levels of divers, but the steep wall going down to the abyss offers a great opportunity to dive deeper, and it is better to be an advanced diver to fully enjoy the dive sites.
Lembeh Strait
Welcome to the macro mecca of Lembeh, which is well known for the volcanic black sand and home to many weird and wonderful critters. This is where "muck diving" all began. Enjoy the variety of rare critters—the good, the bad and the ugly—all playing hide-and-seek in their homes of the man-made debris along the seabed.
Maratua
One of the most action-filled destinations in the region, The walls that surround this island provide some great big fish dives, massive schools of chevron barracudas, hunting trevallies, thresher sharks and much more!
Kakaban
A stunning freshwater jellyfish lake fringed by virgin Mangrove forest, Sheer drop-offs, and walls that attract huge schools of Trevally and Barracuda along with the possibility of Hammerhead, Grey Reef, and Black Tip sharks. For a really exceptional sensation, how about swimming with jellyfish? Yes, you heard it right: jellyfish, the one sea creature that is most likely to give you stings, itches, and all kinds of unpleasant swimming experiences. Well, at Kakaban Island in East Kalimantan, you can , not only swim unharmed with this fascinating creature, but you can actually touch them since the island is one of only two places on earth where you can find stingless jellyfish.
Sangalaki
Famous for large aggregations of Manta Rays who use the islands' surrounding colorful reefs as a cleaning and breeding ground, in certain conditions Whale Sharks can also be spotted.
Derawan
Here is Indonesia’s largest nesting site of the rare and endangered giant green turtles and hawksbill turtles, where one can daily watch turtles lay their eggs in the sand or swim to sea with the turtles. Here, you can find 460 different species of corals, ranking this area second only to the Raja Ampat Islands in West Papua. The Nature Conservancy and a team of international experts also found more than 870 species of fish here, ranging from tiny pygmy seahorses to giant manta rays.
Kalimantan's Whale Shark Point
Over the last few years, word has slowly spread of encounters with groups of whale sharks congregating off the eastern coast of Indonesian Borneo, also known as Kalimantan. The sharks typically gather around fishing platforms, called ‘bagans,’ to feed on anchovies escaping from the nets. The local fisherman refer to the whale sharks as Labetti, or sometimes Si Bintik, which means ‘spotted.’ They believe the Labetti bring good luck, as their appearance is frequently followed by bountiful catches of fish.Day 8:The last dive will be on the penultimate day of the trip before 12.00 (midday). Divers are recommended to wait for 24 hours before flying after the last dive.Day 9:Check-out and disembark after breakfast.Sample itineraries are for guidance only.
