About Papua Paradise Eco Resort
About Papua Paradise Eco Resort
Papua Paradise Eco Resort is part of the prestigious Lotus Group of hotels. And, like all Lotus properties, this resort was custom-built with a focus on total guest comfort, exceptional customer service, and world-class diving. Papua Paradise is perched between the beautiful blue sea and the dense green jungle that cloaks the island of Birie, on Batanta’s north coast, facing the Dampier Strait. This perfect placement allows guests to explore all the legendary dive sites that made Raja Ampat famous, as well as some less well-known ones around Batanta itself.
This property features plenty of little luxuries, with pampering spa services, delicious chef-prepared meals, and perfectly equipped over-water bungalows featuring modern design elements and chic decor. But, the real focus here is the stunning nature surrounding Papua Paradise. In addition to incredible diving, guests can explore this region’s land-based attractions with an astonishing variety of endemic species on offer. Rare wildlife, including birds of paradise - can be seen from trails behind the resort or on one of their special bird tours.

Taking inspiration from local architectural styles, these bungalows were designed to take advantage of the region’s natural cooling breeze. Papua Paradise Eco Resort’s restaurant serves three meals a day, plus plenty of snacks and drinks in between. Each day’s menu features an exotic blend of Indonesian and Western dishes, using produce grown in the resort’s expansive organic garden, and locally sourced sustainable seafood. The dining room is also an ideal vantage point for lovely sunset views over the house reef - where juvenile sharks, sea turtles, and the occasional dugong can be seen. Papua Paradise Eco Resort was built with the environment in mind and employs sustainable business practices whenever possible. The resort relies entirely on natural cooling and fans, rather than using air conditioning, and recycles as much plastic, organic and chemical waste as possible. Papua Paradise has developed close ties with local villages and buys much of its produce locally – especially fish. It also funds a foundation to support local villagers, providing medical supplies and basic medical education to combat common diseases. Plus, the resort supports the work of multiple conservation groups studying the manta rays, dugongs, and various whale species of Raja Ampat.
