Big Blue’s resort extends along the northern shores of Sairee Beach which is known for its quiet and beautiful location, away from the hustle and bustle of the central village. The on-site restaurant serves a selection of fantastic food, including pizza which is famed for being the best on the island. Big Blue’s bar provides a perfect setting for sunset drinks, post-dive socialising, and catching sporting events on the big screen, while daily football and volleyball matches are organised on the beach. Guests are free to relax beside the 12-metre saltwater pool or indulge themselves with a soothing spa treatment at the beach-front massage parlour.

This resort’s comfortable guest rooms cater to visitors of all kinds, from budget backpackers to adventurous couples, families, and even dive groups. And, exciting multiple-month long packages are available for divers who want to take their education further. Diving from Big Blue Diving Koh Tao

Big Blue Koh Tao offers an impressive range of facilities with unmatched levels of service. The dive centre’s instructor training department, Big Blue Pro, has certified more Instructors and Divemasters than anywhere else in the world, while Big Blue Tech is the longest-running tech diving centre in Thailand and has won multiple awards. Big Blue also created the first SSI freediving centre on Koh Tao, and were among the very first dive centres to open an ecological branch run by an experienced marine biologist. The resort also has its own underwater videography and photography department, providing guests with personalised holiday souvenirs or teaching them to capture that perfect underwater shot! 

Each day’s trips depart from directly in front of the resort, with travel times ranging from 15 to 45 minutes. The dive centre provides well maintained Aqualung, ScupaPro, and Mares equipment for rent, and nitrox and trimix are available for qualified divers. Big Blue’s fleet includes two spacious dive boats equipped with multiple sun and shade decks, bathrooms, and free-flow coffee, tea, water, and snacks. This resort offers full-day adventures to Sail Rock, commonly referred to as the most beautiful dive site in the Gulf of Thailand. Big Blue also offers acclaimed courses from beginner to professional as well as certificates in technical diving, freediving, and various other specialities.

Conservation

Big Blue has operated an in-house marine conservation programme for nearly ten years, directed by an experienced marine biologist, and focusing on ecological awareness and education. The resort’s partner programme, Big Blue Conservation organises charity events to support community conservation initiatives, such as its annual Swim for Sharks fundraiser. The dive centre’s energetic team regularly leads its own beach clean-ups, coral and species surveys, and artificial reef development. Guests are invited to join in a variety of these activities, as well as marine ecology speciality courses offered by multiple diving organisations. 

The resort operates with a general ethos of sustainability, limiting its ecological footprint as much as possible and encouraging sustainable practices among its guests. Its conservation programme urges guests to reduce single-use bags, straws, and bottles, offering sustainable substitutes for all on-site. The resort also supports community projects like facilitating responsible disposal of cigarette butts and upcycling single-use plastic into construction materials.
