Days 1-5: Misool AreaArrival at Sorong, pick up at the airport, and boarding. Departure is expected at around 10:00. Welcome drinks and snacks are served while the cruise director briefs the guests on the safety, onboard organization, and overall itinerary and presents the crew. Guests are then shown their cabins to settle in, refresh, and get ready for the start of the cruise. Jakare sails to Pulau Misool, stopping on the way to perform the check dive in the afternoon. In the Boo area, we will dive Boo Window, a reference dive site with extraordinary tunnels and openings piercing the rock from the surface. We will also dive Magic Mountain and Yiliet Kecil, both sites known for their huge gorgonian sea fans, lots of reef fish, and sea life including turtles, reef sharks, and barracudas. In the Fiabecet area, we will dive the well-known and famous Fiabacet Ridge, where pelagic fish and turtles can be seen. This site offers great underwater ridges connecting Tank Rock and Nudi Rock sites. Fiabacet Pinnacle and Whale Rock offer great soft corals and are rich in healthy fish life, including small creatures like seahorse Barbiganti and Denise pygmy.Around Wayil, we will dive into the breathtaking Neptune Fan Sea channel and its profusion of big gorgonian sea fans. We will also dive Four Kings, where a very healthy fish life (both pelagic and coral fish) can be observed in a very specific underwater topography made up of four pinnacles. At Pele, the most westerly site of the Waaf’s island group, deliver schools of anchovies and pelagic predators. Kaleidoscope, on Pele’s northwest side, is well known for its black coral, multicolored soft corals, and gorgonian fans. Manta rays have been spotted in this area.Balbulol offers not only excellent diving sites but also an amazing landscape above water with limestone mounts and small hidden lagoons. The dive sites include Baby Rock, Balbulol Corner, and many others. Expect drop-offs, canyons, pinnacles, and healthy fish life with beautiful hard and soft corals in shallow waters. Guests may enjoy discovery of the surroundings with kayaks and SUPs, as well as superb snorkelling. Jakare leaves for Central Raja Ampat at around 18:00 for an overnight sail towards Piaynemo.Day 6: Piaynemo & YangaffoThe south anchorage of Piaynemo is reached in time for the first morning dive at Keruo Channel. Keruo Channel is an easy wall drift dive with wall slopes covered in beautiful and untouched soft and hard corals. There are many different crabs, sea spiders, clams, shrimps, and sea urchins amongst the corals, as well as many varieties of reef fish with schools of barracudas, snappers, and more. Melissa’s Garden is a current dive made of fantastic pinnacles covered in soft corals and anemones of all different colours. The pinnacle is home to large schools of fusiliers, jackfish, and batfish. Giant trevallies are also spotted here, along with snappers and rainbow runners. In the shallower parts, there will be larger groups of sweetlips and lionfish, as well as many other reef fish of the area. After lunch, Jakare moves north to another anchorage close to the lagoon entrance. A walk on top of one limestone mount is organized for the guests to discover the breathtaking scenery of Piaynemo’s limestone islands. The ascent is usually followed by a refreshing swimming session in the lagoon. Alternatively, another dive can be organized at My Reef in Piaynemo. Jakare then leaves for PulauYangaffo, where a night dive can be organized. The anchorage is located in a beautiful and peaceful mangrove area where undisturbed nature can be observed.Day 7: Arborek & Manta RidgeWake up with the sound of the white kakatoes and discover the inner mangrove with the kayaks at Pulau Yangaffo. Alternatively, an early morning dive can be organized as there are few very nice dive spots around (including Mangrove ridge and Citrus Ridge). Breakfast is then served on the way to nearby Pulau Arborek. Jakare anchors just in front of the island. Arborek has a lot to offer and caters for every taste—diving, snorkeling, beach lounging, and a village walk.Dive at Arborek Jetty—an easy and beautiful dive, starting or finishing at the jetty depending on the current. Giant clams can be found just in front of the jetty. Beautiful soft and hard coral garden with school of fusiliers, groupers, and silver trevally encountered even below the Jetty. After diving at the jetty and visits to the beautiful and dynamic Pulau Arborek, Jakare sails toward Manta Sandy or Manta Ridge and stations there for the next dive. This cleaning station offers good opportunities to watch gracious reef mantas being cleaned in less than 12 meters of water. After the dive, Jakare will cruise eastward toward the nearby village of Yanbuba for a night dive or relaxing. Anchoring and overnight at Yanbuba.Day 8: Yanbuba, Blue Magic and Friwen Dive at Yanbuba JettyThese are easy dives that are very rewarding with turtles, schools of barracudas, snappers, trivalis, sharks, and very nice corals (amazing staghorn and cabbage corals). Then sail toward Mioskon and dive Blue Magic and/or Sardine Reef. Both locations are non-emergent pinnacles located in the north-west of the Dampier Strait and offer current dives on dynamic reefs facing the current. The entire food chain is on open display here, from reef fish feeding on rich waters full of nutrients to big pelagics, including manta rays. After the last dive, Jakare will sail to the Friwen anchorage, located between Friwen and Waigeo. This location gives access to multiple activities, including swimming, amazing beaches, superb snorkelling and village discovery. Just stay on board and relax or discover Friwen and its surroundings with kayaks and SUP or using the dinghies. At the end of the afternoon, the crew prepares a beach BBQ. Guests get back to Jakare in the evening, after the beach BBQ.Day 9: Back to Sorong.Sample itineraries are for guidance only. Day 1: Arrival at Sorong Airport – No diveArrive in Sorong at the newly built Dominique Edward Osok airport. Our representative will be waiting outside the arrival hall and ready to escort you to the ship for immediate boarding. Safety Briefing, Safety DVD, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing Sorong Harbour. During the journey to our first dive site take this opportunity to familiarise yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.Day 2: Wayilbatan – 3 day dives + 1 night divesWelcome to Wayilbatan. This is an interesting site, so pristine and untouched. On this site you will find excellent macro life including several species of pygmy seahorse, octopus, nudibranch and ghost pipefish. Wayilbatan sites usually start on the wall in the northwestern quadrant and swim east if the current permits. We then continue to the Neptune’s Sea Fan. Here, when the current is strong, the surface water is very smooth and it’s easy to shoot wonderful images of the fan rising up toward a reflection of the island wall.Day 3: Fiabacet – 3 day dives + 1 night diveWhale rock is the westernmost dive site of the Fiabacet chain, arguably the most beautiful tropical reef system on the planet. Especially when viewed from the south, the largest Fiabacet island looks like a caricature of an enormous whale floating at the surface. This is also the best opportunity to observe interesting juvenile fish, nudibranch and other invertebrates. In the Middle of the Fiabacet chain of islands, the submerged east point of Nudi Rock is undoubtedly one of the top dives in Raja Ampat. Here you can watch colonies of convict blennies huddle around sea fans while large green and hawksbill turtles glide through the blue. A myriad of species of soft coral and sea fans cascade down the steep slope and smaller animals like decorator crabs and cleaner shrimp abound.Day 4: Boo – 3 day dives + 1 night diveWe will spend our day exploring Boo’s Rock and Boo’s Point east, where we can see large Napoleon wrasse, green turtles, schooling bat fish and snapper and the occasional grey reef shark. Boo’s rock is best known for the ‘’windows’’ or rounded openings on the southern end of the largest rock that completely pierce the reef from the surface down to about five metres. Although the two rocks appear separate from the surface, they are connected underwater by a magnificent reef draped in soft corals and brimming with fish, this makes for an amazing photography dive.Day 5: Daram – 3 day dives + 1 night diveAs the main island of Daram, The site called Candy Store makes you feel like a kid in a candy store. Almost unable to photograph because you will be so stunned by the beauty of this phenomenal Raja Ampat wall. Start on the northeast point and work along the north face, paying special attention to the valleys on the ridge. Here, large schools of fish, including barracuda, fusiliers and butterflyfish face the current together. Spend the first dive on the east to west ridge and dive the southern ‘’leg’’ of the reef next. Huge elephant ear sponges, sea fans and soft corals decorate the western side of this ridge.Day 6: Farondi – 3 day dives + 1 night diveTo the west side of Farondi we will enter through the sea tunnel and then exit on Farondi’s wall. Continue to descend to about 30 metres where the tunnel ends on the wall. There is a cave about 15 metres deep. Explore the wall and floor of the cave for interesting invertebrates like crabs, flatworms, sea spiders and electric clams.Day 7: Wagman – 2 day divesWagman Wall is an excellent dive situated off the east coast of the island. The wall is full of overhangs and caves where divers are likely to encounter groups of snapper and large groupers resting at the bottom. In south Misool the reefscape is draped with Gorgonian Sea Fans and colourful soft corals.Day 8: Sorong Island – No diveAfter breakfast, prepare for disembarkation. Be ready to leave the boat and you will be transferred to Sorong Airport for your next destination. Your diving journey has ended and we shall look forward to welcoming you aboard again.Sample itineraries are for guidance only.
