Foodies are in for a real treat when staying at the Villa on Dunbar Rock. Sumptuous, gourmet meals, and exceptional service await alongside inspired drinks created daily by talented bartenders. There is one entree prepared for each meal, as well as a snack provided at cocktail hour, all announced on a blackboard in the dining area. Most guests tend to spend their time on the Villa’s lower-level, which includes the Great Room, where guests will find a living and dining area complete with a flat screen TV. This is also the location of the infinity pool and pool bar, a favorite location for happy hour and to watch the sun set. The top level is home to a helipad, as well as relaxing swing chairs overlooking Bonacca Town and the west coast of Guanaja, and a gym with expansive ocean views. An on-call masseur is also on hand to remove those knots for a reasonable price. And, of course, this resort also provides access to a private white sand beach perfect for lounging, swimming, snorkeling, and diving.

This resort’s SSI and PADI 5-Star dive centre operates two custom dive boats, each accommodating up to 20 divers and featuring wide platforms for giant stride entries and sturdy ladders for exiting the water. They are aso provisioned with drinking water and fruit, along with freshwater showers, towels, camera rinse tanks, dry storage, and shaded areas. The resort’s friendly and professional staff pride themselves on their dive concierge service, carrying your gear, preparing it for the dive, changing it over for the second dive, and rinsing and storing it at the end of the day.
Villa on Dunbar Rock offers guests to explore over 50 named Guanaja dive sites - and another six or so secret spots. Plus, ‘Dunbar Rock’ itself is surrounded by fantastic snorkeling and very shallow shore diving with plenty of juvenile reef fish. Boat rides vary from 20-45 minutes and trips generally return to the resort for lunch - unless you’re diving the north shore of Guanaja. The dive centre boasts a substantial stock of well maintained rental equipment including weight integrated BCD’s in a variety of sizes, regulators, full foot fins, masks and snorkels, and dive computers. A limited number of wetsuits are also offered and nitrox can be provided at an additional cost. Weekly night dives are also offered.
