M/Y Sea Dragon is managed by Amelie Safaris, an experienced Red Sea liveaboard operator aiming to offer an alternative to the mainstream. With a comfortable headquarters located in Hurghada, Amelie Safari offers both liveaboard adventures and day trips, touring some of Egypt’s very best sites. Built in 2019, this 30-metre wooden-hulled vessel was designed specifically for diving, with a wide range of conveniences and comforts, including modern scuba facilities and inviting social spaces. During a cruise aboard Sea Dragon, you’ll enjoy five-star service from the boat’s dedicated local crew, delicious dining and drinking, and plenty of comfortable spots in the sun to relax during your surface intervals.
This comfortable, budget-friendly yacht offers impressively diverse itineraries throughout Egypt’s north, central, and southern Red Sea. Guests can book anything from three-day mini-safaris to extended adventures in the deep south, known for high-speed drift dives and pelagic sharks. Sea Dragon’s voyages feature many of the Red Sea’s most legendary dive sites, including historic shipwrecks, colourful coral reefs, and far-flung islands. And, these trips cater to divers of all stripes – from snorkelers and beginners to underwater photographers and seasoned scuba pros.
Onboard Sea Dragon
Sea Dragon features a spacious air-conditioned salon and dining room, where all-day snacks and drinks are offered, in addition to three buffet-style meals each day. This comfortable area is also ideal for chilling out with a good book or chatting to the crew. Head outside to bask in the heat or work on your tan with two separate sundecks – located at the top and front of the vessel – offering cushioned seating and loungers, as well as a comfortable shaded area. This is also the ideal place to get to know your fellow divers over a sundowner cocktail or relax and enjoy panoramic views of the region.
Diving from Sea Dragon
Custom-built for diving, this vessel’s aft deck is well designed and features some lovely conveniences such as warm water showers to help you stay comfortable after each dive. Discerning divers will also appreciate the dedicated electronics rinse tanks and high-quality rental gear. Complimentary nitrox, 15-litre tanks, and support for sidemount divers are also available. Depending on the day’s dive sites, you’ll enter and exit the water directly from Sea dragon or via its two comfortable zodiacs. Sea Dragon’s dedicated crew is happy to work with divers of all skill and comfort levels, offering a range of courses and allowing plenty of independence for experienced buddy teams.
