Scuba Junkie Penida is set back off the main road, providing a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, yet is just a few minutes stroll from the beach through the shaded coconut groves. The resort offers a daily breakfast, as well as lunches on board the dive boat, and is conveniently located for a wide variety of fantastic restaurants serving Indonesian and European dishes. Free drinking water refills are also available as well as tea and coffee facilities. Scuba Junkie Penida can also arrange a selection of land tours to complement your dive holiday, visiting Nusa Penida’s top attractions including Angel’s Billabong and Broken Beach, Keling Beach and viewpoint, and Crystal Bay. Scuba Junkie Penida offers full equipment rental from the dive centre including comfy custom-made BCD’s with plenty of D-rings for guest’s personal accessories. 5mm wetsuits are offered , perfect for Penida’s cooler water temperatures, along with Mares open-heeled fins and dive boots. Suunto dive computers are provided for all students and are also available to rent for certified divers. 12-litre aluminium tanks are used and DIN connections can be accommodated with prior notice. Groups are kept small, with a ratio of 4 guests to each guide, and are organised according to certification and experience.
The dive centre’s daily trips depart at 8am and consist of up to 3 dives. Their fibreglass dive boats depart from the nearby Nyuh Harbour providing comfortable access to a variety of dive sites in under 45-minutes. Snacks and refreshments are available on board and lunch is generally served after the second dive of the day. Safety is paramount when diving with Scuba Junkie Penida, and their boats are equipped with lifejackets, marine radios, GPS, emergency oxygen, and first aid kits. The dive centre also offers all levels of PADI scuba courses, from Discover Scuba Diving through to Divemaster.
With the help of its conservation branch, Scuba Junkie SEAS, Scuba Junkie Penida holds several conservation-focussed events throughout the year such as Manta Week, Marine Week, Turtle Week, and International Clean-up day. During these events they give presentations, offer workshops, and undertake outreach programmes with the hope of raising awareness about threats to ocean life among guests, staff, and island locals. The Marine Megafauna Foundation are invited to such events, allowing them to join dives and collect data. Local produce and supplies are also used wherever possible and plastic is kept to an absolute minimum.
