Explore the resort
Lembeh Resort’s restaurant can be found in the upper floor of the main building serving buffet-style breakfasts and lunches, and á la carte evening meals, with a range of both Indonesian and Western dishes. The food is purchased from local farmers in the Minahasan highlands and the fish bought daily from local suppliers. Lembeh resort also offers weekly BBQs. The resort also has a pool and pool bar built just meters from the sea, with a deck and comfortable sunbeds - and perfect views of the surrounding volcanoes and spectacular sunsets across the strait. Tucked away in the resort gardens is the purpose-built spa, where guests can book a range of treatments designed to ease the mind and body.
Additional activities provided by Lembeh Resort include trekking Tangkoko National Park, the Minahasan highlands, or the lush jungle of Lembeh Island. Visits to local villages and markets are also on offer and provide a great insight into the local culture. Birdwatching, volcano tours, sunset cruises, mangrove cruises, kayaking and cooking classes can also be organised.
Diving from Lembeh Resort
The dive centre is well-managed, spacious and equipped with a full range of high-quality dive kit, including torches and U/V lighting. There is also a large camera room with rinse tanks, plenty of work stations and power sockets for charging batteries. Close by is the ‘Genus Cafe’ where guests can get a coffee and browse the selection of ID books and magazines. Next to the dive centre is the Photo Centre where guests can book courses and critique sessions, as well as seek support and advice should they have a problem with their photography equipment during their stay. The Photo Centre even has a custom-built dry cabinet to help with repairs, as well as a 3D-printer to build custom parts.
Lembeh Resort operates a ‘Dive as you like’ policy - meaning they work out the dive schedule around their guests’ desires - allowing guests to join a boat for one or two dives in the morning, an afternoon dive, daily mandarinfish dives, daily night dives and even guided late night dives. The house reef can also be explored at any time of day and night. The resort’s custom-built dive boats feature plenty of space and shade, as well as safety equipment, fresh fruit, drinks, snacks and water. Lembeh Resort’s dive centre guarantees small dive groups with a maximum of four guests to one guide, and offers private guides upon request. The resort is located in the middle of the Lembeh Strait and all of the nearby sites are within 15 minutes of the dive centre.
Conservation at Lembeh Resort
Lembeh Resort and Critters@Lembeh employ and train many local villagers on Lembeh Island. The resort staff are given the opportunity to experience diving in the hope that it will cultivate a greater appreciation for the unique underwater ecosystems of the strait.
The resort also donated materials to build the local church in nearby Pintu Kota Kecil and provides electrical power for the church and Sunday school, which plays an important role in most of the education on the island. The resort also helps guests to donate materials for the school and the children. The two nearest villages Pintu Kota Kecil and Pintu Kota Besar are home to families of small-scale fishermen and the resort is planning to contribute towards a learning centre with a small library and a computer with a USB modem for internet access.
As well as their commitment to the villages in the area, the resort strives to reduce its environmental impact whenever possible.
