Vessel
Vessel information
Lady Ningaloo is a purpose built, dive liveaboard bringing a touch of comfort and distinction to the World Heritage Ningaloo Coast. Extensively refitted in 2021, this 24-metre vessel accommodates 18 guests in nine cabins, with a choice of double, twin or bunk configurations. Above all, this vessel is extremely capable, with the advanced catamaran design ensuring enhanced stability whilst allowing access to hard to reach parts of the reef and shallow bays. The high clearance tunnels also promise safe and comfortable open ocean passages, while reducing water noise on the hull.
This vessel is operated under the expertise of Dive Ningaloo – a team of passionate diving professionals who have been exploring Ningaloo’s underwater world for over 20 years. Lady Ningaloo currently operates two separate itineraries, spending either three-nights or seven-nights at sea. The shorter of the two trips caters to guests of all experience levels, including snorkelers, while the week-long voyage is dedicated specifically to scuba divers.
Onboard Lady Ningaloo
Lady Ningaloo features indoor and outdoor alfresco areas, allowing plenty of space to relax between dives. The upper deck offers an air-conditioned dining room and breakfast bar, where unlimited tea, coffee, soft drinks, and filtered cold water are on offer throughout the day. Three main meals are provided daily, along with mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks, and alcohol can be purchased from the bar. A shaded alfresco entertainment area can also be found here, towards the aft of the vessel, along with access to the spacious sundeck above.
Diving from Lady Ningaloo
Designed exclusively for scuba diving, the main dive deck boasts an array of convenient facilities. The spacious equipment set-up area keeps guests safe and stress-free when preparing for each dive, while the freshwater wash bins ensure both personal and rented gear is well-maintained. For maximum comfort, Lady Ningaloo also offers easy access to toilets and hot showers, as well as a dryer to dry your towels after each use. Full equipment rental is included in the price of each trip, along with the use of nitrox 32% for suitable certified divers.
Top tips
- At eight-metres above the waterline, the sundeck provides the perfect vantage point from which to view Ningaloo’s abundant marine life.
- Underwater lighting is fitted under the marlin board to attract marine life to the vessel at night as well as for safety on night dives.
Conservation
Lady Ningaloo is made from aluminium, making it lighter, longer wearing, and therefore, more sustainable. To help reduce its carbon footprint, this vessel has been fitted with three synchronised gensets that start up and shut down depending upon the load required, reducing excessive usage. The roof of the vessel is coated with heat reducing paint that lowers temperature absorption, and thereby reducing cooling requirements. Finally, all crew are trained in environmentally conscious procedures, keeping plastic consumption and waste to a minimum.
