Liveaboard facilities

Belize Aggressor V is a 30m motor yacht built exclusively for liveaboard diving. The vessel accommodates up to 14 guests in six cabins and carries a crew of six. Guest areas include an air-conditioned saloon and dining area, sun deck with hot tub and loungers, shaded cocktail deck, outdoor stereo system and grill. Evening entertainment may include movies, games, dive videos, marine-life identification presentations and destination briefings. A small onboard boutique offers assorted items such as T-shirts.

Cabins

Accommodation is comfortable and practical, with five Deluxe Staterooms and one Quad Stateroom. Deluxe Staterooms sleep two guests in a bunk-style layout with a double lower bed and twin upper bed, while the Quad Stateroom sleeps up to four guests in two sets of twin bunks.

Cabins are designed for divers who expect to spend most of the day on deck or in the water, so storage is limited. Soft luggage is recommended which can be stored under the beds.

Dining

Meals are generous and informal, with a mix of Caribbean, Belizean and American-style dishes. Breakfast includes cooked-to-order hot options, fresh fruit, cereals and juices. Lunch is served family-style or buffet-style, and normally includes soups, homemade breads, salads, sandwiches and hot dishes. Dinner is served and includes seafood, beef or chicken with vegetables and homemade dessert.

Snacks are served between dives and complimentary drinks include fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea and coffee, as well as the Aggressor Fleet signature complimentary local beer and wine at dinner. Guests who prefer particular spirits or premium alcohol are encouraged to purchase them before boarding. Any special dietary requirements should be provided in advance and discussed with the chef on arrival, though options can be limited by the yacht’s remote itinerary.

Dinner on the final Friday evening is taken ashore at a local restaurant and is not included in the price of the trip.

Diving & itineraries

Diving onboard and itineraries

Belize Aggressor V offers up to five dives per day with a typical 24–27 dives on a 7-night trip. All diving is conducted from the yacht’s back dive deck, with the vessel anchoring or mooring at dive sites and divers entering directly from the stern platform. Tenders are not used to support the diving operations. The dive deck includes personal lockers or cubbies, rails and hangers for wetsuits, freshwater showers and warm towels after dives. Air fills are included, 32% nitrox is available for certified divers at an extra cost, and rental equipment is available. Wetsuits are not available to rent, so guests should bring their own.

Diving is non-decompression only, with no technical diving, rebreathers or double tanks supported. Each dive begins with a briefing, and certified buddy teams manage their own dive plans within the limits of their certification, the briefing and local conditions. At least one crew member will be in the water to assist with support, critter-spotting, photography or videography. Night dives are offered several time during the week, weather permitting, with the chance to see squid, lobster, octopus, sleeping reef fish and other nocturnal marine life.

The Belize South itinerary explores a quieter region of Belize’s barrier reef system. Trips usually begin around South Water Caye Marine Reserve, where coral gardens and swim-throughs make an ideal area for check out dives, before continuing to Glover’s Reef Atoll to explore the walls and coral pinnacles, in search of reef sharks, nurse sharks, eagle rays, turtles, green moray eels and Belize’s endemic white-spotted toadfish. Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve adds the possibility of bigger marine life, including jacks, bull sharks and spawning groupers, with seasonal whale shark activity possible from March to June. The week often finishes around Laughing Bird Caye National Park, known for its clear shallows, coral gardens and photogenic reef structures. The exact route and dive sites may change depending on the weather, guest experience and local regulations.

Diving in Southern Belize

Belize offers some of the Caribbean’s most accessible reef and wall diving, with its huge barrier reef system, offshore atolls, marine reserves and protected cayes to explore. In the south, Hopkins, Placencia and Glover’s Reef combine easy access from the mainland with remote offshore diving, including aty South Water Caye Marine Reserve, Glover’s Reef Atoll, Gladden Spit and Laughing Bird Caye. Divers can expect warm water, reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, schooling reef fish, healthy coral gardens and plentiful Caribbean reef life year-round.

Glover’s Reef is Belize’s southernmost atoll, with an inner lagoon scattered with hundreds of patch reefs and outer walls dropping towards the Cayman Trough. Planning

Getting there

Belize Aggressor V operates from Placencia Municipal Dock in Placencia, Belize. Most international guests arrive at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City BZE. From there, guests take a domestic flight to Placencia Airport PLJ. The domestic flight from BZE to PLJ takes around 45 minutes, and Maya Island Air and Tropic Air operate multiple flights daily.

Guests are advised to arrive in Belize one day before the departure day to reduce the risk of delays, missed domestic connections or late luggage. If arriving on the day of departure, book a domestic flight that lands in Placencia before 15:30, which will allow enough time to reach the dock for check-in. Boarding is on Saturday between 16:00 and 18:00, and all guests must be on board by 18:00, after which the yacht will depart for its first anchorage.

Transfers are not included. The transfer from Placencia Airport to Placencia Municipal Dock is a short taxi ride of around 5–10 minutes. The yacht returns to Placencia Municipal Dock on Friday afternoon after lunch, with check-out from 08:00 on Saturday. Allow at least three hours between your domestic flight departure and your onward international flight from Belize City.

Other activities

Belize Aggressor V is primarily a dive liveaboard, with downtime centred around the yacht.
