About Anthony’s Key Resort
Anthony’s Key Resort sits on one of the choicest shorelines in the Bay Islands of Honduras, along the northwest edge of Roatan. This resort is spread over several locations, comprising premises on the mainland of Roatan, along with the private islands of Anthony’s Key and Bailey’s Key. The resort opened its doors over 50 years ago, offering authentic tropical getaways on its intimate 11-acre key. And, while its popularity may have grown, Anthony’s Key still embraces the beauty of the Caribbean as nature intended and prides itself on maintaining a peaceful slice of paradise to share with like-minded travellers.
Guests at this resort will instantly fall in love with the rustic village vibe, where low-slung bungalows perch above the tranquil lagoon and amongst the palm-studded hillside. No matter which setting you choose, expect spectacular views, relaxing hammocks, and convenient access to the surrounding unspoiled wonderland. Plus, you won't find telephones or TVs in your bungalow. Instead, you'll enjoy uninterrupted time to focus on what's important – creating memories that will last a lifetime. And, with an incredible array of onsite facilities, including an indulgent spa, experienced dive centre, and dedicated marine science institute, you won’t want to miss a moment.
Explore the resort
Guests will relish the delectable dining experiences at Anthony’s Key, enjoying three mouth-watering a la carte meals a day at the exclusive onsite restaurant, Ankor Seafood Grill. This restaurant also offers a full-service bar with sodas, fruit juices, a specialty cocktail menu, and a wine list, while the adjacent outdoor courtyard and patio are perfect for mingling with friends before dinner. Alternatively, guests can sip refreshing beverages beside the pool at the AKR Pool Bar. Handcrafted Honduran coffees, teas, and refreshing iced beverages can also be enjoyed at Coast Coffee, located in the main lobby.
Don’t be surprised if you find that your favourite afternoon pastime at this resort is simply lazing in a hammock or lounging by the pool. But, if you wish to take the relaxation further, the Ixora Spa offers muscle-soothing massages and other invigorating treatments. More adventurous guests will find a variety of watersports equipment on the key’s beach, including kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, and can also take part in horseback riding, and zip-line canopy tours. An onsite boutique sells a variety of handcrafted jewellery, casual clothing, a wide selection of t-shirts, postcards, sunglasses, traditional Central American handicrafts, and more!

The AKR Dive Shop at Anthony Key Resort offers a full complement of dive and snorkel gear for daily or weekly rentals. Of course, fresh-water showers and rinse tanks are also available.

Top tips
- Fish identification presentations are delivered every Sunday at 18.00 in the Roatan Institute of Marine Sciences.
- Every Wednesday the resort organises a fun night of dining, games, and Garifuna dancers during the "Island Fiesta" on the key.
Conservation
The Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences (RIMS) was established in 1989 by the owners of Anthony's Key Resort. The primary objective of this facility is the preservation of Roatan's natural resources through education and research. RIMS has established itself as a dedicated teaching institution, and is visited year-round by colleges, universities, and high schools from abroad to study tropical marine ecosystems and the resident bottlenose dolphins.
To minimise water consumption, the resort changes bed linens and towels every third day and again upon check-out. Wastewater is also collected, treated in the onsite Bio-Microbics plant, and used to irrigate the gardens on the property. Single-use plastic items are not purchased by or sold at the resort. That means you won’t find plastic bags, bottles, coffee stirrers, straws, or other common single-use plastic items here. To further reduce single-use plastic, Anthony’s Key Resort equips all guest room baths with bulk dispensers for liquid bath amenities, which housekeeping refills from larger containers. Additional sustainable efforts include the installation of solar panels – the largest privately-owned solar installation in the Western Caribbean.
