Day 2:
Today we will explore the dive sites around the various islands close to Maumere. There are beautiful coral gardens, steep drop-offs, and sandy slopes to choose from. Today we will have 3-4 dives. Overnight we sail east along Flores Island towards Lewaling Bay.
Day 3:
Today we dive within Lewaling Bay in the north of Kawula Island. With stunning views of volcanoes above water, we explore fishy coral reefs, drop-offs, and sandy slopes within the giant bay. We will have 3-4 dives today. Overnight we sail towards Alor Island and the Pantar Strait.
Days 4-6:
For the next 3 days we explore the many walls, reefs, and sandy slopes surrounding the islands within the Pantar Strait. Clear water, vibrant coral reefs, and fishy wall dives are plentiful in this area. Within Kalabahi Bay there are black sand slopes and dive sites full of strange critters. There will be 3-4 dives each day.
Day 7:
We make our way back west and dive at a few beautiful reefs around the islands of Adunara and Flores. We will have 3 dives today. Overnight we continue west to Pulau Raja.
Day 8:
Today we wake up at Pulau Raja. Halfway between Maumere and Komodo National Park, we find ourselves far from the crowds. We enjoyed 3 dives today around this isolated island, enjoying vibrant reefs and abundant marine life. Overnight we sail to Komodo National Park.
Day 9:
We wake up north of Komodo National Park. 3-4 dives are done today. The northern area of Komodo National Park is characterized by clear and relatively warmer water (25-27°C). The corals thrive from the strong currents that flow between the Flores Sea and the Indian Ocean through the channel. There are small islands and beautiful white sandy beaches scattered throughout the channel. Komodo Island to the west and Flores to the east create a dramatic backdrop, adding to the excitement of the adventure.
Day 10:
We spend the day diving in the north around the islands of Gili Larat Laut and Darat, diving on pinnacles, walls, and a famous channel drift dive. We will have 3-4 dives today.
Day 11:
We begin with a morning dive in the north and then proceed south. As we head south and near the Indian Ocean, the water temperature begins to get cooler (18-25°C). The colder water creates a breeding ground for plankton, causing the water to become greener and dense with life. With decreased visibility, divers begin to focus more on the reef itself, rather than the wide-angle landscape. This brings into focus an array of interesting marine macro life. An afternoon dive and possible night dive are done in the area of Pink Beach. We have 3-4 dives today.
Day 12:
Early in the morning, with sea conditions allowing in the southern end of the park, we will sail to Manta Alley and possibly onto Horseshoe Bay, where there's a chance to have amazing manta ray interactions. We spend the day in the south of the channel with both pelagic and macro marine life. After a day in the south, we sail north to Padar Island for a sunset hike to experience amazing views of the surrounding islands. We will have 3 dives and a land excursion today.
Day 13:
Today is our last day of diving, and we will have two morning dives. After the second dive it's lunchtime, followed by the long-awaited land excursion to see the Komodo Dragons! After the land tour we will slowly make our way back to Labuan Bajo; as the crew washes your equipment, please relax and enjoy. On our way back to Labuan Bajo, we will stop to view the nightly migration of hundreds of fruit bats. An impressive spectacle to see. We arrive in Labuan Bajo in the evening.
Day 14: (Disembarkation in Labuan Bajo)
Our crew will transport you to the airport. We hope to see you again soon. Thank you!
