Kelana – meaning ‘explore’ in Indonesian – is a luxury private charter vessel cruising Komodo National Park. Specially designed to deliver an exclusive liveaboard experience, Kelana is one of the finest boat charters operating in the region. Built in 2012, this 16-metre vessel accommodates a maximum of six guests in three staterooms, consisting of one master cabin, one double cabin, and one bunk cabin.
Guests can choose between several itineraries in Komodo, lasting three, five, or seven-days. There are a lot of amazing highlights in this iconic national park and your trip will be customised to your liking. Those looking for an intimate underwater adventure, can explore the most famous and beautiful diving spots, while guests who enjoy excursions will be shown the most stunning spots on the islands. And if you’re not ready to make your own itinerary, don’t worry, because Kelana’s team will be happy to prepare it for you.
Onboard Kelana
Wood features heavily in Kelana’s three cosy cabins, which showcase local basketry and hand-woven tribal textiles, and feature air-conditioning and modern ensuite bathrooms as standard. Dining areas inside and out feature rustic wooden tables and pretty sea views, with room for six to enjoy the onboard chef’s characterful plates of Western and Asian-inspired fare. Like the cabins, Kelana’s interior lounge is engulfed in gorgeous golden wood and decorated in a beautiful boho-chic theme. Towards the bow of the vessel, guests will also find a long, outdoor social space furnished with beanbags and mattresses for relaxing in the sea breeze.
Diving and activities
During each itinerary, guests can enjoy up to three dives per day, with full rental equipment included in the price. Dives are accompanied by an experienced onboard divemaster, allowing guests of varying experience levels to enjoy Komodo’s sites in safety and comfort. Other activities such as swimming, snorkelling and onboard yoga can be enjoyed whenever you desire. Trekking and sightseeing excursions are also organised, incorporating some of the national park’s many highlights such as the Komodo dragons, pink beaches, Padar’s iconic viewpoint, and the beautiful fruit bats of Kalong.
