Diving from The Westin Cozumel
Diving at The Westin Cozumel is overseen by Pro Dive International, a PADI 5-Star dive operator and career development centre. Founded in 2003, Pro Dive International is renowned for its high standards of excellence, quality, and safety. At The Westin Cozumel, the dive centre is located on the resort’s private beach and is staffed by a qualified multilingual team and instructors. A full range of scuba certification courses can be undertaken here, catering to guests of all kinds – from young children wishing to take their first breaths underwater, to seasoned adventurers seeking a new challenge such as cave diving – and nitrox is free for certified divers.
This dive centre operates up to five local dives each day, including night dives. A dedicated dive boat is on hand to ferry guests to a variety of sites, most of which lie within a short, 10-minute trip from the beach. Extended excursions can also be organised, travelling up and down the coast to experience the likes of the Playa del Carmen’s bull sharks, Yucatan’s famous cenotes, the whale sharks of Isla Contoy, and more. Rental gear is available on site, comprising 12 individual sets produced by top-quality brands such as ScubaPro and Cressi.
