As a PADI AWARE resort, education is one of Thalassa Dive Resort’s core values. The resort has played an active part in the creation of a new school in a nearby village which helps children start a career as dive guides or hospitality staff. Together with the Kehidupan Anda Foundation in the Netherlands, Thalassa sponsors a large part of the diving school in particular, which has become quite successful. Guests are invited to visit the school as one of their excursions, offering a glance into the daily village life of North Sulawesi school kids. Thalassa Dive Resort also organises beach clean-ups and marine lectures to help guests and staff get involved in ‘giving back’.
