Vessel information
This sister vessel to the Socorro Vortex offers two seasonal itineraries, with trips to Socorro and Revillagigedo, as well as photography-themed great white experiences in Guadalupe. This roomy and smooth sailing boat is run by divers, for divers, delivering action-packed voyages with outstanding service above and below water, and a chilled out social setting ideal for adventurous and outgoing guests. Dive up to four times a day, snorkel with marine life during your surface intervals, and kick back and relax in comfort when you aren't busy diving. Whether this is your first liveaboard or your hundredth, you're going to love the Solmar V!
This liveaboard's itineraries cater to all divers, from intermediate explorers and shark enthusiasts to more seasoned adventurers. Some voyages set out for Mexico's most remote diving regions with cool water, ripping currents, and potentially challenging surface conditions. Others allow you to safely and passively observe wildlife from the comfort of a protective surface or submerged cage. Either way, you don't have to be a pro to enjoy your dives! The Solmar V's highly-trained and professional crew is happy to guide all types of guests, offering as much or as little hands-on assistance as you want.
Onboard Solmar V

In between dives, you'll find plenty of room to spread out in the generous air-conditioned salon, complete with comfortable seating, a modern media station, and a spacious separate dining room. Three delicious buffet meals are served each day, featuring a variety of global dishes suited to all tastes. Snacks, hot and cold drinks, and fruit are also offered throughout the day, and alcohol is sold once the day's diving has concluded. Above deck, you'll find both sun and shade decks, with loungers and comfortable outdoor seating.
Diving from Solmar V
This liveaboard's itineraries focus on the most dynamic diving in Mexico's Pacific, with action-packed voyages to both Guadalupe and Revillagigedo, commonly referred to as Socorro. You can expect a week or more of exhilarating underwater experiences, with as much service and attention as you'd like. Plus, excellent amenities for divers, with two spacious custom zodiacs, a shaded dive deck, private gear storage, a modern camera table, and nitrox for qualified divers. This boat also features well maintained rental equipment, complimentary nautilus lifelines, dedicated electronics rinse bins, and freshwater showers on the back deck. Due to the adventurous nature of diving in Malpelo, the use of nitrox is compulsory throughout the voyage.
Top tips
- This is one of the region's only boats with a single cabin - ideal for solo travellers!
- Pack supplies for seasickness even if you aren't prone to it - Mexico's Pacific is known for rough surface conditions.
- Bring a bit of extra cash along for gear rental, nitrox, and gratuities, and drinks from the bar.
- Keep a camera close in between dives - you might spot dolphins, mantas, humpbacks, or whale sharks on the surface!
