About Sali Bay Dive Resort
Sali Bay Dive Resort is an idyllic island getaway located off-the-beaten-track in the Patinti Strait, a narrow channel between Bacan and the southern reaches of Halmahera. This inviting three-star resort sits in a picturesque protected bay on the south coast of Sali Kecil – a 2.5-kilometre island covered in dense vegetation. Whilst still relatively new, this was the first resort to set up base in the area, allowing its team to pioneer some of the top dive sites and gain an in-depth understanding of the surrounding waters.
Despite its isolated location, guests will find this resort to be well-equipped and wonderfully comfortable, complete with gourmet cuisine, a choice of accommodation, and a selection of spa services available onsite. But, as enticing as this resort is, it’s the undisturbed local diving that truly steals the show. Expect biodiverse coral reefs, beautiful underwater vistas, and barely any other dive boats in sight.

Sali Bay’s restaurant and bar is located right in the middle of the resort and is where the experienced chef serves up International and local gourmet cuisine. Not far from the restaurant, guests will find the resort’s freshwater pool, which offers bar service for maximum relaxation. Facing the beautiful bay and shaded by the leaves of surrounding coconut palms, this lovely pool provides a cool place to hang out after the day’s dives. Sali Bay’s onsite spa is also located nearby and offers a choice of 60-minute or 90-minute treatments performed by experienced therapists.
Diving from Sali Bay Dive Resort
The dive centre at Sali Bay is located near the jetty, providing direct access to the 600-metre house reef. Top-quality and well-maintained scuba gear can be rented from the dive centre, which also provides 12l aluminium tanks with both DIN and Int valves. Guests won’t have to lift a finger during their stay, with all diving equipment rinsed, dried, and recovered by staff, ensuring it is ready-and-waiting on the dive boat each morning. Sali Bay also features a camera room a few metres from the jetty which is dedicated to photographers and their equipment.
