About Proco Island Bambu Resort
Proco Island Bambu is a new diving resort, tucked away on its own island in the Patinti Strait, south Halmahera. This resort was created by one of Halmahera’s pioneering underwater explorers, who has been discovering and naming dive sites here since 2009. Born from many years of experience, and boasting great attention to detail, this impressive dive resort leaves nothing to be desired. Only opening its doors in 2023, Proco Island Bambu’s accommodations are clean and comfortable, its facilities are brand new, and the service is genuine and full of smiles.
Guests at this resort are accommodated in 12 cottages and two private villas, as well as the communal restaurant and bar, which feature bamboo heavily throughout the construction. As the only resort on the island, this property is surrounded by its own wild tropical garden of palm trees, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, making it perfect for both relaxation and adventure. And, due to its remote location, in one of Indonesia's newest and best diving spots, the fringing reefs here are utterly outstanding.
Explore the resort
Proco Island Bambu’s restaurant serves a mix of Indonesian and International cuisine. Western breakfasts are always served buffet-style, but for lunch and dinner, guests can select from a daily changing menu. The Sunset Bar is open all day and serves a selection of juices, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. After a day of diving or snorkelling, guests like to relax in this large open-air space, treat themselves to a pre-dinner cocktail and enjoy the breathtaking sunset views.
For non-diving guests and anybody looking to take a quick dip, there are plenty of fantastic snorkelling opportunities in the vicinity of this resort. Just a few fins-kicks from the shore, two impressive house reefs lie waiting to be explored, while those wanting to explore more of the surrounding reefs can opt for an extended guided excursion.
For nature lovers, Proco Island is a fantastic place to spot wild birds, which can be found throughout the dense vegetation that covers the island. Likewise, the resort’s untouched tropical beauty is perfect for relaxation, with guests free to roam the island in search of a secluded spot.
