In 2017, the resort was audited by Green Globe and was certified Gold for its practices. Blue Journeys Dive and Activity Centre also boasts the PADI Green Star Award for its commitment to green business practices and responsible environmental preservation.
Special consideration is given to employing and empowering local residents and wherever possible, sourcing local and fair trade products and services. With this in mind, Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has formed a committee of elected ‘Hyatt Thrive Ambassadors’ to represent the different communities.
