Ocean Vida boasts 12 Sea View Rooms located in the centre of Bounty Beach. All rooms include a private terrace or balcony with comfortable seating area, providing sunset views in the evening, as well as a spacious bathroom with warm showers. The 8 Garden View Rooms are located in a 2 storey building behind reception, providing a quieter and more private setting. The Family Rooms, which are also located behind the reception, combine two Garden Rooms with a connecting door and provide additional space for extra guests. Ocean Vida’s restaurant, located just above the beach bar and dive centre, serves a variety of Filipino and Thai specialties alongside other European options such as steaks, pasta, pizza and seafood. A selection of imported wine is also offered. Guests can choose to dine overlooking the beach or on the sand under the palm trees. Inhouse guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet including freshly baked bread, croissants, eggs, bacon, beans, rice and a wide range of jams. The restaurant caters to vegetarians, vegans and food intolerances – please inform during booking. The beach bar is open all day serving fresh fruit shakes, cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks, while beanbags on the beach provide the perfect place to view the sunset each evening. Next to the beach bar is the Vida Café which produces homemade cakes, sweets, ice cream and freshly brewed coffee drinks.
Just a few meters away, Ocean Vida’s sister resort offers a variety of spa treatments including massages, manicures and pedicures. The diving at Ocean Vida is managed by the 5 Star dive centre, Sea Explorers, who have over 30 years of experience diving the Philippines and giving their guests and incredible dive holiday experience. The well-established dive centre boasts 2 air-conditioned classrooms and 2 newly renovated Bangka boats, accommodating 12 and 18 people, and offers up to 4 dives each day. Both boats carry VHF radios, first aid and oxygen. Other facilities provided by this European-managed dive centre include nitrox 32%, DIN and INT valves, 12-litre and 15-litre tanks, a 4:1 dive guide ratio and well-maintained rental equipment.
Malapascua found fame for its regular sightings of thresher sharks, and Sea Explorers offer daily sunrise dives with a good chance of seeing these evasive creatures. Various species of ray, whitetip reef sharks and mating mandarin fish are just a few of the other delights on offer.
