Vessel information
Narayana is a classic vessel crafted from Thailand’s strongest ironwood and specially designed for liveaboard diving in Tubbataha. Originally built in 2014, this boat was dry docked this 2018, and renovated with a new modern aesthetic while retaining its original comfort and charm. At 26-metres long, Narayana carries a maximum of just 14 guests, creating an intimate and personal atmosphere on board. As a result, this is almost certainly one of the best value-for-money liveaboards currently exploring Tubbataha.
Narayana is owned and managed by a Filipino-German family with extensive knowledge of the dive liveaboard industry. And, thanks to a partner beach resort and dive centre, it’s easy for guests to conduct a check dive before the trip, advance their scuba certification, or simply extend their holiday in Palawan. Narayana primarily focuses on the Tubbataha Reefs National Park, offering trips throughout the seasons of March through June. Trips exploring El Nido, Coron and Apo Reef are also run between the months of October and December.
Onboard Narayana
Whilst on board Narayana, guests are accommodated in eight cosy cabins located on the main deck. Each cabin features an ensuite bathroom with a shower and the double cabins have a private balcony – providing a great place to relax. On the upper deck, guests will find the dining area and kitchen, overseen by a friendly, hotel-trained chef who serves hearty home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additional relaxation space can be found on the top deck, which offers ample room for sunbathing as well as a shaded daybed at the back of the vessel.
Diving from Narayana
Between three and four dives are offered each day aboard Narayana, a total of 18-19 dives during a week-long voyage. The dive preparation area is located at the rear of the main deck, where a spacious tender awaits to transfer guests to the day’s dive sites. Rental equipment can also be provided for an additional charge, allowing guests to travel light and leave some of their personal gear at home.
