Magic Island is a boutique resort located in the quieter southern part of the Moalboal peninsula, overlooking the mountains of Cebu. Nestled among tropical palm trees, this resort is well located for both the town centre and the main tourist area of Panagsama, offering a quiet yet convenient getaway. Magic Island’s 10 bungalows are nestled among the beautiful tropical gardens and feature private balconies with comfortable seating and views of either the ocean or swimming pool. Each cottage is equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safety deposit box, minibar, drinking water, hair dryer, and a private bathroom with hot water shower. Cottages can be taken with either double or twin beds and several can accommodate a third bed if required.
Magic Island’s restaurant boasts a sociable family-like atmosphere with long dining tables designed to get guests chatting to one another. Delicious meals are prepared in the open-view kitchen and are often served on the terrace above the dive centre which offers fantastic views. The resort’s cosy bar is located beside the restaurant and serves a selection of tropical cocktails and soft drinks. If that’s not enough, the inhouse spa offers a range of treatments including massages, manicures, and pedicures.
2 terraces and 2 beach houses offer extra living space and are furnished with comfortable seating, providing the perfect place to relax, while the resort pool is situated close to the bar and is surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. A variety of excursions can be organised by Magic Island Resort including canyoning, visits to waterfalls, trekking, mountain biking, and dirt bike riding. Transport can also be arranged to take guests to Panagsama Beach to enjoy the restaurants, bars, and nightlife.
The resort’s PADI 5 Star dive centre is located directly on the water’s edge, providing easy access to the bive boats and the fabulous house reef. Personal crates and hanging posts ensure plenty of storage space for each diver, while the spacious outdoor area allows for easy gear assembly. Additional facilities include dedicated rinse tanks, Nitrox, and a well equipped classroom. Equipment rental is available from the dive centre and 12-litre aluminium tanks with DIN and Int connections are used.
Guests can choose from over 20 dive sites and the resort has 3 traditional Bangka boats, that combine classic design with modern functionality, and carry between 4 - 10 divers. The resort’s house reef can be dived by day or night and features an amazing 50-meter drop-off. Exciting night diving experiences such as ‘fluoro’ and ‘blackout’ diving are also offered from the dive centre, allowing guests to experience the incredible local marine life in full fluorescent colour or in almost total darkness. A full range of PADI courses is offered by this resort, from beginner to divemaster, including a range of specialities.
