Located on the idyllic island of Siladen, Kuda Laut is a beautiful boutique resort operated in partnership with Celebes Divers. The island is the smallest in the Bunaken National Park, and with no cars and roads, life is enjoyed at a slower, more relaxed pace. The resort itself lies on a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by lush tropical rainforest and boasting fantastic views of North Sulawesi and one of Bunaken’s best reefs just offshore. Swim, snorkel, and dive your days away on the house reef, or take the adventure further with SSI courses and day trips to the region’s very best dive sites. Back on land, you’ll find world-class facilities for divers, scuba students, and underwater photographers.

Kuda Laut’s on-site restaurant serves sumptuous buffet-style breakfasts to help dedicated divers fuel up for the day. Then, for lunch and dinner, guests can choose from the daily a la carte menu featuring an exotic blend of Western and local flavours showcasing tropical produce and fresh sustainably sourced seafood. The resort bar is located poolside, directly on the beach, and is the perfect place to wind down after a long day in the sun. Get to know your fellow divers over a game of pool in the comfortable lounge area beside the bar. Or, just retire to your spacious and perfectly appointed room to rest and recharge for the next day’s adventures.
The resort spa provides a variety of services including massage, bodywork, and salon treatments, designed to soothe and refresh even the weariest of travellers. Just next door, you’ll find a fully equipped gym, boasting fantastic ocean views. Land-based excursions to Tangkoko National Park, the Minahasa volcanoes, the Kali Waterfalls and Tatempangan Hill Viewpoint are also offered. Ocean lovers can opt for romantic sunset boat tours as well as dolphin, pilot whale and even whale shark-spotting trips. Self-guided snorkelling is possible at any time on the house reef, and day snorkelling trips to Bangka Island can also be arranged.
Diving from Kuda Laut Resort
Kuda Laut’s partner dive centre, Celebes Divers, is equipped with a large drying room, individual storage booths for guests’ personal equipment and an air-conditioned camera room for storing and preparing photography gear. This resort’s house reef is one of the nicest in Bunaken National Park, and guests are free to explore it anytime - snorkelling or on a guided dive. Regular night and sunset dives are also organised, highlighting the region’s rare macro species. Kuda Laut Resort offers valet-style diving, ensuring equipment is ready for guests whenever they need it. Full equipment rental is also available, as well as nitrox for qualified divers.
Celebes Divers offers multiple trips each day, from their spacious and comfortable speedboats. You’ll find covered seating and a sundeck, camera rinse bins, toilets, and well-stocked refreshments stations on board - perfect for an all-day adventure at sea. Groups are kept to four divers per guide, offering plenty of one-on-one time with your expert local spotter. And, each day’s diving includes a variety of sites to choose from, with thriving reefs, mucky macro slopes, and powerful currents to play in. A full range of SSI courses are also offered, as are special day trips to Lembeh, Nain Island and Manado Bay.

The dive operation and its partner resorts now support multiple offset projects, and as of summer 2019, Celebes Divers is a certified CO2-neutral company. As a member of SSI’s Blue Oceans initiative, they also follow the Blue Oceans Responsible Diver Code by providing eco-friendly soap and shampoo, selling reef-safe sunscreen, discontinuing the use of single-use plastics and regularly organising beach and reef clean-ups. All divers are briefed on the resort’s strict no gloves, no touch, no take policies before beginning their underwater adventures.
