Hurawalhi Island is ideally situated, with short boat rides to manta cleaning stations, shipwrecks, and current-free coral reefs. Diving at Hurawalhi Island Resort
Hurawalhi Island Resort's partner dive centre, Prodivers Maldives, offers a variety of PADI courses on the stunning house reef including dive scooter speciality. Lhaviyani Atoll is one of the Maldives’ most popular among scuba divers thanks to its diversity of underwater environments and wildlife. This is the perfect place to experience channel and drift diving, or visit a current-swept thila or two. These exciting open water sites are perfect for spotting sharks and playful reef manta rays between November and March.. And, there's plenty of laid-back reef diving in the region, too. Lhaviyani's protected lagoon plays host to hundreds of coral and fish species, plus pint-sized macro creatures like nudibranchs and frogfish. You'll have access to over 60 sites from Hurawalhi island, so plan as many dive days as possible.
Conservation at Hurawalhi
The Hurawalhi Marine Biology Center is led by a resident marine biologist and run in close cooperation with Prodivers Maldives. This educational space is dedicated to studying the atoll's ecosystem and sharing the findings with guests. Their programs are passionate and fun, and often held in partnership with Manta Trust, the region's leading manta ray research project.
Hurawalhi Island Resort's environmentally friendly undertakings continually work to minimise the resort's impact on the Maldives fragile ecosystem. Their current initiatives include an extensive system of solar panels powering various parts of the property, on-site desalination and plastic-free water bottling centre, and offerings from the island's organic garden at every meal.
