Vessel information
EcoGalaxy is an eye-catching catamaran liveaboard offering once-in-a-lifetime naturalist itineraries in the Galapagos. Built in 2014, this first-class vessel is attractively styled, featuring dark coloured furniture paired with natural upholsteries and numerous artistic features throughout. Nurturing an atmosphere of contemporary comfort, the social areas on board are the perfect place to witness the endless wonderful landscapes in a private and intimate setting.
Built specifically for sailing the Galapagos Islands while preserving its fragile ecosystem, EcoGalaxy features state-of-the-art technology designed to optimise the generation of energy, the consumption of fresh water, and the reduction of carbon emissions. Even before setting sail, this vessel committed to conservation, managing to reduce water consumption and wood use by 50% throughout its construction.
At 31-metres in length, EcoGalaxy comfortably accommodates 16 passengers in eight spacious staterooms – all of which are located above deck and come complete with ensuite bathrooms. The vessel offers several itineraries throughout the Galapagos Islands, lasting between five and six days, and exploring different areas of the archipelago. Accompanied by a bilingual naturalist guide, these trips focus on unparalleled natural discovery, incorporating a wide range of excursions and scheduled activities.
Onboard EcoGalaxy
The vessel’s dining area and bar is located to the aft of the main deck. Here, EcoGalaxy’s professional onboard chef serves up tasty buffets that showcase the unique and profound character of Ecuadorian cuisine. Menus are amplified by ingredients harvested directly from the Galapagos Islands, artfully blended with international touches to captivate every palate. The bar is also located here, allowing guests to enjoy an array of local and international wines, as well as various cocktails and beers.
EcoGalaxy liveaboard’s lounge area is also located to the aft of the main deck and comes equipped with sofa-style rattan furniture, as well as a television, DVD player, and small library. A cosy boutique briefing area can also be found to the front of the main deck, offering yet more comfortable seating. To the aft of the upper deck, guests will find an alfresco entertainment area, while the top level is reserved for the vessel’s astroturfed sun deck, where lounge chairs and bench-style sofa await.
Excurions from EcoGalaxy
Throughout each trip, guests will have access to a wide range of excursions and activities designed to immerse them in the incredible natural world of the Galapagos Islands. Outings include snorkelling, kayaking, hiking, paddleboarding, and panga rides, as well as endless opportunities to encounter magnificent creatures such as marine iguanas, giant tortoises, and blue-footed boobies.
Conservation
EcoGalaxy has implemented a range of characteristics aimed at reducing the negative environmental impact of tourism. These include the installation of energy-efficient LED lights, use of biodegradable cleaning products, and quality air-conditioning and cooling systems that automatically adjust according to weather conditions. EcoGalaxy also boasts low fuel consumption during operation and an adjustable system pressure tank, which provides efficient saving of fresh water inside the boat.
