Dolphin Queen is a delightful liveaboard offering both three-day and five-day itineraries around the famed Similan and Surin Islands. Vessel information
Accommodating a maximum of 18 divers, the 24-metre Dolphin Queen operates both diving and snorkelling liveaboard trips in Thailand’s Andaman Sea. Guests can choose between two action-packed itineraries around the Similan and Surin islands, including Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. The five-day cruise allows ample time to explore the stunning natural setting, including white sandy beaches, jungle trails, and tropical island wildlife, while the three-day trip is designed for divers with limited travel time, hitting all the best sites with maximum efficiency.
Similan Diving Safaris is an eco-friendly PADI 5-Star dive centre located in the heart of Khao Lak. As one of the first dive centre’s in the area, Similan Diving Safaris boasts more than 20 years of experience specialising in top-quality liveaboard trips to the Similan and Surin islands. The friendly and dedicated team is happy to help in any way possible to make your holiday trouble free, and take immense pride in delivering high standards of service and safety. With thousands of dives under their belts, the team knows each site in intricate detail, and having certified over 2,500 scuba students, beginners can feel confident in their tried and tested approach to tuition.
Onboard Dolphin Queen
Dolphin Queen has a wooden mono hull, consisting of 3 decks. The main deck has six cabins and three spacious bathrooms, with a further two cabins located on the upper deck. Dolphin Queen’s open-sided dining area is located at the rear of the vessel, and features three tables with sofa seating and an extra table in the centre for cameras. Meals consist of both Western and Thai favourites, spiced to your taste. On the upper deck, you’ll find lots of room for topping up your tan, alongside a couple of hammocks and deck chairs. Traditional Thai massages are also available on request.
Diving from Dolphin Queen
At the aft of the main deck, guests will find the dive platform, which offers ample room to put on and store your dive gear, as well as two showers for convenience. The vessel uses 12-litre tanks and Int connections as standard, but also has a few DIN adapters and 15-litre tanks available to rent. Close at hand are the dedicated boat crew, who are there to help you gear up as well as enter and exit the water. Similan Diving Safaris can deliver a full range of PADI dive courses and the dive shop stocks a range of equipment from brands such as Aqualung, Suunto, and ScubaPro.
