Vessel
Vessel information
Coral Sea Dreaming is a stylish little liveaboard embarking on overnight adventures on the Great Barrier Reef. Measuring just 16-metres in length, and accommodating a maximum of 12 guests, this is the smallest and most intimate liveaboard out of Cairns. The small group size allows for a close-knit atmosphere, where guests feel like they’re on a get-together with friends, rather than a crowded tour. Throughout the trip, guests will be joined by three crew members who prioritise quality over quantity and pride themselves on creating an intimate and personalised experience, ensuring everyone has the adventure of a lifetime.
The vessel departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings, spending a night at sea before returning the following afternoon. Coral Sea Dreaming offers access to over 25 moorings on nine different reef systems – including some of the most famous dive sites around Cairns – and can guarantee the best dive and snorkel locations according to the conditions. And, best of all, there are no hidden costs, including levies and surcharges. So when you purchase a dive trip with Coral Sea Dreaming, you can rest assured that the price includes an expert dive guide and full rental gear.
Onboard Coral Sea Dreaming
Coral Sea Dreaming accommodates up to 12 guests in three private cabins with double beds, a shared quad-bunk cabin, and a separate area with two bunks for singles or kids. There are two shared bathrooms and a shared hot water shower. The vessel’s saloon and dining area takes a central position on the lower deck, and comes with two tables, bench seating and a galley.
Outside, guests will find a small sun deck in front of the wheelhouse, which is dedicated to relaxation and comes equipped with a hammock. A covered area at the rear of the vessel is where guests will spend most of their time when not diving, likely sharing stories over a cup of tea or a cold beer.
Diving from Coral Sea Dreaming
The diving deck is situated at the front of the vessel. This is where the scuba tanks are stored and where divers get ready for the day’s adventures. Guests jump into the water from the platform and come back up via stairs lowered into the water. The boat is equipped with a three-phase compressor and three air banks, ensuring tanks can easily be filled during surface intervals, ready for the next dive.
