Conrad Maldives Rangali is on an eco-mission to make a difference. Their collaboration with the environmental organisation, Parley For The Oceans aims to help drive change and promote sustainable travel. Each villa will receive a Parley Kit, encouraging guests to reduce the use of materials that heavily impact the environment and ocean.
The resort's current efforts aim to eliminate all single-use plastic from the island. To achieve this goal, they plan to replace plastic amenities such as toothbrushes with bamboo alternatives, replace plastic key cards with wooden key cards, and provide a plastic-free breakfast with yoghurt served in glass jars and paper-wrapped butter.
Launched in 2017, the Conrad Rangali’s coral regeneration plan aims to protect the reefs surrounding the resort. The program includes a coral nursery and a coral adoption programme for guests to partake in. Conrad Maldives Rangali is also contributing to the local Maldivian community with outreach programmes. These initiatives provide career and learning opportunities for local youths and include the Young Girls Apprenticeship Program, on-site hydroponics project promoting sustainable farming, and a local library project in Dhidhoo Island.
