Catalonia Bayahibe is an all-inclusive four-star resort located around 20-minutes by car from the city of La Romana and around a 30-minute boat ride from the islands of Saona and Catalina. This Green Globe certified resort is surrounded by leafy tropical gardens and is nestled on one of the Dominican Republic’s most dazzling beaches, Playa de Dominicus, which has been awarded the International Blue Flag in recognition of its water quality.

The resort’s large central swimming pool features several separate sections including a Jacuzzi, children's pool, and activity area. Located beside the pool, El Merenguero, offers refreshing cocktails, smoothies and cold drinks, with Margarita's Swim-Up Bar serving those who’d rather stay in the water. And, when you need a break from the Caribbean sun, cool off at El Cocotero bar, which is conveniently located in a palapa on the beach.

Diving from Catalonia Bayahibe
Diving at Catalonia Bayahibe is overseen by Pro Dive International, a PADI 5-Star dive operator and career development centre. Founded in 2003, Pro Dive International is renowned for its high standards of excellence, quality, and safety. At Catalonia Bayahibe, the dive centre is located on the resort’s private beach and is staffed by a qualified multilingual team and instructors.
A full range of scuba certification courses can be undertaken here, catering to guests of all kinds – from those wishing to take their first breaths underwater, to seasoned adventurers seeking a new challenge. Courses can be commenced daily and confined water sessions can be undertaken in the onsite pool.
This dive centre operates up to five local dives each day, including night dives. Three dive boats are on hand to ferry guests to a variety of sites, most of which lie within a short, 15-minute trip from the beach. New, well-maintained rental gear is available on site and nitrox fills are available at an additional cost.
