Home to Turneffe Atoll’s airstrip, Blackbird Caye Dive Resort is a true gateway to Belize's islands and reefs, providing a laid-back playground within a pristine natural paradise. With its all-inclusive, guest-centric approach and sustainable infrastructure, Blackbird Caye provides all the service expected of a modern resort, combined with the memories provided by the remote, tropical castaway experience. The friendly, hospitable staff are the first to greet you as you step foot on this remote resort, followed by a remarkable sense of peace until the day you depart.

Each of Blackbird Caye Dive Resort’s guest houses have been recently renovated, and feature straightforward amenities to help you rest between adventures. And, believe us, you’re sure to have some adventures, with complimentary paddleboards and kayaks, and guided excursions throughout the atoll. As a PADI 5 Star resort, you can expect some of the highest standards of scuba service here, both above and beneath the surface. And with more than 70 dive sites to choose from, including the Great Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye National Monuments, memorable underwater moments are never far away.

Explore the resort

The experienced chefs at Blackbird Caye Dive Resort give international flavors a local makeover, incorporating freshly-caught seafood and Belizean produce into every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And, if you get hungry between meals, two tropical waterfront bars are on hand to serve snacks and drinks alongside the largest reef in the Caribbean. This enchanting resort stretches out over a section of beautiful beachfront, providing plenty of space for soaking up the sun, and offers a sumptuous swimming pool right on the sand for a touch of added luxury.

Belize’s snorkeling ranks among the world’s best, and for good reason - turtles, angelfish, seahorses, and more call Turneffe Atoll home, helping to make it the most biologically-diverse reef in the Western Hemisphere. Blackbird Caye Dive Resort offers twice-daily snorkeling trips with one of their trained guides. Each hour-long outing will take you to some of the Caribbean’s best sites in search of vibrant marine life, bringing you within arm’s length of colorful corals, dazzling fish, and more. Complimentary kayaks and stand-up paddleboards allow you to cruise the Caribbean at your leisure and immerse yourself in stunning untouched surroundings. Or, why not join a guided kayak excursion, and explore every corner of Turneffe Atoll’s dynamic ecosystem.

Diving at Blackbird Caye Dive Resort

Some divers are fascinated by the renowned Great Blue Hole, while others are drawn to Turneffe Atoll’s shallow reefs - thankfully, at Blackbird Caye Dive Resort, you aren’t far from either. Plus, you have easy access to around 70 other scenic sites, 20 of which are less than 35 minutes away by boat. Guests can choose from local dive trips and more adventurous full-day excursions to Lighthouse Reef, where you’ll get the chance to explore the legendary Great Blue Hole and Half Moon Caye national monuments.

The resort’s PADI Five Star dive centre is located directly on the water and boasts a fleet of four stable vessels - including the 37-foot Queen Angel and the 50-foot Big Bird - to transport guests to each dive site quickly and safely. No gear? No problem. Blackbird Caye Dive Resort features a convenient on-island equipment centre where guests can rent wetsuits, regulators, dive computers, and more. A range of PADI courses can also be completed during your stay, including Bubblemaker, Open water, Advanced, and several specialities.

Top tips

  • We recommend bringing your own snorkelling equipment. Rentals aren’t included in your package but can be provided for a fee.
  • Venture behind the resort to the ominously named Crocs’ Lagoon, where a pier provides wonderful sunset views.
  • Complimentary ground and boat transfers are offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Transfers on other days via private chartered flights can be arranged.
