El Galleon Resort is located in the exciting coastal town of Puerto Galera, on the northeast tip of Mindoro and just a few hours away from Manila. Puerto Galera’s unrivalled dive centre, Asia Divers, has been operating for over 30 years and caters to beginner, professional and technical divers alike. El Galleon Resort’s restaurant sits right at the water’s edge, allowing guests to enjoy superb meals with an amazing view. An in-house French chef brings together a variety of spectacular local delicacies and European classics, plus little extras like imported wine. The Barrel Bar is located on the resort’s private deck, providing a beautiful place to catch a sunset, enjoy the sea breeze over a cocktail, and get to know your fellow guests. At the resort’s edge, guests can find the Point Bar. This popular spot is a hub of entertainment and relaxation serving a variety of drinks including the house speciality – shooters.
Guests can relax and soak up sun at the resort pool, nestled amongst palm trees and just a few steps from the beach. Or, escape to the La Palm Spa and unwind from the stresses of travel. A variety of treatments such as Thai massage, Swedish massage and aromatherapy are offered in the semi-open spa, which also boasts extensive sea views and a hot tub. Situated above the restaurant, El Galleon Resort’s fully air-conditioned conference rooms offer seating for 25 people, as well as a whiteboard and TV. Other activities that can be organised by the resort include sunset cruises, snorkelling, beach BBQs, Tukuran River treks, Mangyan village tours, jungle ziplines, mountain biking, and more.
Diving from Asia Divers El Galleon
El Galleon works closely with Asia Divers, who boast more than 30 years of experience in the region, and was Asia’s first PADI Career Development Centre. This spacious dive centre features personal gear storage for every diver and a floating platform with a large pontoon, providing easy access to the boats. Underwater photographers will love the superb camera room with dry charging areas and dedicated camera rinse tanks. Full equipment rental is available from the dive shop and nitrox is available for those qualified. Asia Divers guides are also proud to offer several speciality experiences, including dive scooter use, blackwater diving, and technical diving.
Guests at El Galleon can choose from a full range of PADI courses, as well as freediving classes, speciality certifications, and more. All of the resort’s tech training is conducted by TechAsia who are partnered with Asia Divers and El Galleon Resort. This dive centre boasts a fantastic retail area, two spacious and air-conditioned classrooms, a repair and maintenance room, and plenty of room to relax during surface intervals. And, with dozens of dive sites on offer, guests can thoroughly explore this thrilling region with total peace of mind, looked after by an expert international team.

El Galleon Resort features an innovative wastewater treatment system that ensures no liquid leakage into the surrounding environment. The resort also has several solar panels which supply the pier, dive deck, Barrel Bar and Point Bar, and have begun converting high energy appliances to energy-saving alternatives. Refillable water bottles are offered to each guest free of charge, and no plastic straws are used on site. The restaurant’s cooking oil is even reused - providing the resort’s romantic table lighting.
El Galleon Resort also supports NGOs such as Project Aware, Shark Angels and Fins Attached. Environmental awareness speciality courses are offered at the dive centre, as are regular lectures and presentations on conservation and sustainability. This resort enforces a strict “no touch, no take” policy, and each guest will be briefed on their environmental responsibilities before their diving adventure begins.
