Anantara Veli’s Aquafanatics Water Sports Diving Centre is an outstanding PADI 5-Star dive centre. The resort also has the Maldives’ first PADI certified freediving centre, letting guests explore the stunning reefs on a single breath. Seasoned dive instructors teach a full range of PADI courses from beginner to divemaster, as well as freediving courses. Absolute beginner or seasoned pro, the professional team does their best match ability to dive conditions, and keep dive and course groups small to ensure safety and enjoyment.
Daily half and full day dive trips take divers via speedboat to explore exciting sites in North and South Male Atoll, and Felidhu Atoll. If you prefer, you can even request a private dive guide and trip for an additional fee. Plus, there are guided snorkelling trips for non-divers who want to explore the colourful reefs. Guests can rent top-quality dive equipment, underwater cameras, 15-litre tanks, and nitrox. Divers can do their check dive on the house reef, then explore the site at their leisure.

As part of Anantara's commitment to protect the environment, it has partnered with Aquafanatics to launch a Coral Adoption Programme - a long-term plan designed to share learning experiences with guests, accelerate the regeneration of coral in the atoll reef and ultimately ensure the future of this unique Maldivian destination.
Guests are invited to participate in this long-term project by planting coral in the reef nursery, transplanting coral onto their own rope with the help of the resort’s resident marine biologist. The lagoon is shallow enough to perform the operation with a mask and snorkel, so it’s very easy to get involved. Once the coral has been attached, the rope is moved to its new permanent home. After, guests can follow its growth with photo updates and return visits.
