Vessel
Vessel information
All Star Morning Star is the twin vessel of All Star Sea Explorer - both operated by Blackbeard’s Cruises. This 20-metre sloop-style vessel offers weekly voyages to the Exuma Cays geared towards all types of travellers including singles, couples, and groups, as well as both new and experienced divers. Fun-loving and adventurous travellers are sure to love this vessel’s casual, energetic atmosphere and the sense of discovery as you disconnect from the world, make new friends, and engage in action-packed activities in one of the Caribbean’s best diving destinations.
Blackbeard’s Cruises is a member of the All Star Liveaboards family, an experienced operator that started life with a single vessel in Bimini over 40 years ago. All Star Liveaboards’ all-star team believe strongly that scuba diving travel needs to be within reach of the next generation of divers, and their fleet now features four Bahamas-based vessels, covering three distinct price-points, from budget to luxury. They even offer a crewed charter catamaran option that can be customised to accommodate divers and non-divers. Throughout the years of growth, one constant has always remained - every member of the All Star Liveaboards’ dive management family is a passionate scuba diver and understands the unique needs of the industry and its customers.
Onboard All Star Morning Star
At 20-metres long, All Star Morning Star accommodates up to 18 guests in a selection of double and single bunks with privacy curtains. The vessel’s onboard chef serves food designed to give divers plenty of energy during the day, with a full breakfast, hot lunch and dinner, and a delicious dessert as standard. Meals are either taken in the main salon, or picnic-style on deck. You’ll also find ample strong coffee to get you started in the morning, and once your diving is done, you can enjoy a cold beer or some of Blackbeard’s famous rum punch. While diving is what most people join these trips to do, Morning Star supports fun of all kinds with a range of hands-on activities including deep sea fishing, sailing, halyard swinging, and freediving.
Diving from All Star Morning Star
The variety of diving available in the Bahamas is amazing, and Sea Explorer offers everything from beautiful reefs at all depths, awe-inspiring walls, swift drift dives, night dives, mysterious blue holes, and even shark feeding dives. Top of the line rental gear can be provided for guests without equipment, including torches and dive computers. A range of scuba certifications can also be arranged, including open water checkouts, and more advanced courses.
Top tips
- Travelling with a partner? Several of Morning Star's double bunks offer slightly more privacy than the rest, making them great for couples.
- Fishing is possible directly from the boat, and any catch can be utilised in the menu. But bear in mind that you’ll spend a lot of time within a protected marine sanctuary where fishing is strictly prohibited.
- The most common sharks on these trips are nurse and Caribbean reef sharks.
- Pack light, you won’t need many clothes and they will be stored on a shelf in your bunk.
