Overview
Built in 2020, Dune Silky liveaboard, formerly known as Alia, offers some of the most modern and contemporary interiors of any safari boat in the Red Sea. You'll feel perfectly relaxed in stylish surroundings, complete with all the comforts of home. And, you'll be well looked after underwater, with an expert crew guiding up to four dives a day in Egypt’s central and southern Red Sea, with plenty of time to relax in between. You'll explore kaleidoscopic coral reefs, sombre shipwrecks, and plummeting walls, joined by an incredible variety of tropical species. Back on deck, expect world-class service, delicious dining and drinks, wireless internet and an entertainment console.

Day 1: ArrivalOur friendly staff will welcome you at the airport. Bus transfer from the airport to the marina. You will, then, be attributed a cabin and discover the boat.Day 2: Departure from Safaga or HurghadaAfter breakfast, your guide will tell you everything you need to know about your programme of the week, safety recommendations and, more generally, your life on the boat. Your diving certifications, logbook and insurance will be checked before leaving the marina. The boat will then sail to the first dive site, 30 minutes away from the marina. Your guide will give you a detailed briefing about your first dive. After lunch you will do your second dive. You will then keep sailing north to reach the El Gouna area where you will spend a quiet and peaceful night moored behind a big reef.Day 3: Abu NuhasArrived the day before on site, you will do your first-two wreck dives in the morning. After lunch you will sail north for two hours before reaching the site where you will do the third dive of the day. Upon request, a night dive may be added. For a quiet and peaceful night, you will spend the night away from the waves, moored behind a big reef. This programme may be subject to change according to weather conditions.Day 4: TiranOn this fourth day of the cruise, you will have the opportunity to explore the island of Tiran. Located near the tip of Sinai, this island offers three unique dives at three different sites. The first diving site, Thomas Reef, famous for his canyon and his plateau to the west, where you may be lucky enough to spot sharks. You will then dive at Jackson Reef, followed by a dive at Gordon Reef.Day 5: Ras Mohamed National ParkAt sunrise, the captain and his crew will take you to to the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula where you will dive the wonderful Yolanda Reef in Ras Muhammad National Park.Day 6: SS ThistlegormDive into history and beauty at Thistlegorm and Abu Nuhas, two legendary Red Sea sites. Thistlegorm, a WWII shipwreck, reveals fascinating artifacts and vibrant marine life. Abu Nuhas, the "Shipwreck Graveyard," offers stunning dives on multiple wrecks, each teeming with fish and coral, blending adventure with underwater exploration.Day 7: Safaga or HurghadaThe last two dives of the week will be conducted in Hurghada or Safaga, depending on the return marina. Stunning drop- offs await to make a grand finale of your week. The boat is scheduled to return in the afternoon. You will have the opportunity to rinse your equipment on the rear platform of the boat or take a stroll in Safaga/Hurghada. Depending on your flight schedule, other activities may be offered to fully enjoy your Friday afternoon.Day 8: DepartureDepart from the boat after breakfast, or earlier, depending on your transfer time to the airport or hotel.Sample itineraries are for guidance only. Please note: This is a reverse-trip itinerary, starting at your final destination and working backward to your point of origin.Day 1: Arrival day
Reception at the airport, transfer by bus from the airport to the marina, assignment of the cabins, and discovery of the boat.Day 2: Gota Sharm
Wake up, have breakfast, and then a welcome briefing (organization of the week, safety instructions on board, etc.) will be presented to you by the guide. A verification of your diving documents and your insurance will be carried out before leaving the marina. The captain will head to the first dive site 30 minutes from departure. The briefing of the so-called "rehabilitation" dive will be presented to you by the guide. After lunch you will sail about two hours south to arrive at the Gota Sharm site where you will do the second dive of the day. At the beginning of the evening, after dinner, the boat will continue its course all night towards the south to arrive in the early morning under the Tropic of Cancer in the area of Saint John's.Day 3: St. John’s
For this first day on St. John's, three dives will be offered. Sailing times between sites vary between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours in the Saint John's area. Dive sites are carefully chosen by your guide based on the weather and the number of boats at the sites. For a peaceful night, the boat will moor behind a reef sheltered from the waves.Day 4: St. John’s
As the sun rises, the captain and his crew will take you on another day trip to three other sites in Saint John's.Day 5: Fury Shoals and Sheleneyat
Next, we'll arrive at Sataya (Dolphin House) in the Fury Shoals, with a chance to snorkel with dolphins. followed by two dives on stunning Fury Shoals reefs. After lunch, we 'll sail north for 5 hours to "Sheleneyat," where the third dive will be at dusk or night, depending on arrival time.Day 6: Marsa Alam
The boat will sail for 45 minutes to your first dive site of the day. After breakfast, we’ll head north for two hours to the Marsa Alam area.Day 7: Safaga
The last two dives of the week will be conducted in Safaga. Stunning drop-offs await to make a grand finale of your week. The boat is scheduled to return in the afternoon. You will have the opportunity to rinse your equipment on the rear platform of the boat or take a stroll in Safaga. Dune Silky liveaboard offers spacious twin and double cabins, with connecting quarters available ideal for families and dive groups travelling together. Below deck, you'll find plenty of room to relax in an air-conditioned salon and dining area, complete with designer furnishings and a modern entertainment centre including big-screen tv and video game consoles. This is also where you'll enjoy three sumptuous meals each day, featuring a bold blend of local and international dishes, with options to suit every palate. Free flow coffee, tea, snacks, and fruit are also available around the clock. And, beer, wine, and select spirits are on offer once each day's diving is done. Head topside to stretch out in the sun or shade, with loungers, comfortable seating, and panoramic views.
Diving from Dune Silky
This newly constructed luxury liveaboard is set to become a favourite among Red Sea divers in the know. You'll enjoy day after day of easy diving, with scuba-friendly features at every turn, including two custom zodiacs for easy entry and exit - and no long surface swims. Back on board, you'll find a spacious, shaded dive deck with showers, individual equipment storage, and dedicated camera rinse bins. Plus, brand new rental gear, 15-litre tanks, and nitrox for qualified divers. A full range of PADI courses is also offered, conducted by a patient and professional international team of instructors.
