Sokaraja is a traditionally-crafted Phinisi liveaboard offering small and intimate cruises around one of Indonesia’s most renowned dive destinations, Komodo National Park. Refurbished in 2019, Sokaraja combines modern and classic styles with a personal approach to hospitality. This vessel caters for both scuba divers and snorkelers and is well suited to budget-savvy travellers after an adventurous getaway with family or friends.

Sokaraja is a classic Indonesian Phinisi liveaboard offering three or four-night cruises around Komodo National Park. With a range of accommodation to suit all budgets, and free-to-use dive and snorkel gear, this liveaboard represents superb value for money. The Sokaraja team uses a friendly, personal approach to create memorable liveaboard diving trips for passionate scuba divers and nature-lovers. And as an experienced PADI instructor, the owner of Sokaraja is passionate about providing exciting and safe underwater experiences. Ideally suited to both divers and snorkelers, Sokaraja is a superb option for a budget-friendly liveaboard vacation with family or friends.

Onboard Sokaraja

Sokaraja is a recently-renovated Phinisi liveaboard with bucket-loads of classical style. The 25-meter vessel accommodates just ten guests in three cabins, providing plenty of space for each diver. Guests can choose between two private double cabins and one dorm room with six single bunks. All cabins feature air-conditioning and wall fans for maximum comfort. Sokaraja has two toilets and three freshwater showers which are shared by guests and an array of essential toiletries are provided. Freshly-prepared Indonesian cuisine is served buffet-style in the open-air dining area, featuring 270-degree views of the wondrous Indonesian landscapes. The upper sun deck is furnished with a large, comfy mattress where guests can lounge in the Indonesian sun. Head here for a refreshing surface interval-snooze or some evening star-gazing.

Diving from Sokaraja liveboard

With just 10 guests on board, Sokaraja liveaboard’s dive deck offers lots of space for every diver. The dive deck is shaded from the sun and is equipped with outdoor showers, rinse hoses and camera wash tanks. Scuba diving and snorkelling equipment hire is included in the price. 12-litre aluminium tanks are used onboard, and both DIN and Int connections are available. Tenders take guests to and from dive sites, providing extra choice and flexibility.

Sokaraja offers three or four-night liveaboard voyages around Komodo National Park. Guests can dive Sebayur Kecil, Pengah Kecil, and Waenilu, followed by Siaba Kecil, Turtle City, and Siaba Besar. There will also be an opportunity to trek in search of Komodo dragons on Rinca Island. Next, the vessel will visit Police Corner, Tatawa Kecil, and Mawan, as well as Batu Bolong, Taka Makassar, Manta Point, and Cauldron. On the final day, guests will explore Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, and Bamboo Slope.
