Day 1: Embarkation Day (2 day dives + 1 sunset/night dive) (or 2 day dives + Dragon Tour)One of our drivers will collect you from your hotel (If you plan to take the early morning flight, we can have our driver collect you from the airport also) and bring you to our office in Labuan Bajo. All guests will meet at our office in town between 08:00-8:30am. We will then walk down to the harbour together at 09.00am.Once everybody is onboard, our crew will offer you a welcome drink, and our Cruise Director will orient you to the KLM Eliya and explain how the next week is going to work, as well as ensure you are fully aware of our safety procedures onboard. You will be given ample time to check out your cabins and become familiar with the boat while we make our way to the first dive site.Today we aim to do 3 dives with you: 2 afternoon dives with lunch in between, followed by a sunset/night dive before a delicious evening meal cooked by our fantastic local chefs. Depending on the Cruise Directors plans, today might offer 2 dives + the opportunity to see the Komodo Dragons on Rinca Island—the specific itinerary will be clarified once you are aboard.Days 2-5: (3 day dives + 1 sunset/night dive each day)As we will have journeyed overnight, we will wake you up nice and early for your first dive of day 2! Today your adventure truly begins with world-class dive sites that the Komodo National Park has to offer. We will wake you each morning around 6.00am, allowing you the option to enjoy some light snacks, tea, and coffee before embarking on your first exhilarating dive of the day—we cannot think of a better way to wake up!
After Dive 1 you will be welcomed back onboard with a hot, tasty breakfast to enjoy as we travel to our second site of the day.Dive 2 will begin late morning. After Dive 2 you will enjoy an extended surface interval, allowing ample time to enjoy a delicious lunch!Dive 3 will begin late afternoon, allowing plenty of time to soak up the stunning scenery this area has to offer.Your final dive of the day will be a sunset/night dive. Depending on the location of the site, we will serve dinner either before or after this dive. It's not all about the diving! At some point during day 2-5, we will aim to explore the Komodo National Park a little deeper with two incredible land/nature tours (such as a walk up Gili Lawa Darat for incredible views over the National Park, encountering the Komodo Dragons on Rinca island, visiting the famous Pink beach or a trip to see the fruit bats, to name a few possibilities!). These will vary depending on which part of the Komodo National Park you are in. Your Cruise Director will explain more during your welcoming briefing!Day 6: Disembarkation Day (1 early morning dive + Komodo land tour) (or 2 day dives if Dragon Tour completed on day 1!)Your final dive will be in the morning, so to ensure you clear the 18 hr no fly time, we recommend that you book a departing flight the day after you disembark from KLM Eliya. After your last and final dive (until next time, that is!) and, as no journey to Komodo National Park is complete without a visit to see the famous Komodo Dragons, we will take you over to Rinca island for your Dragon Tour! The Ranger Station at Loh Buaya offers a recently built Education Centre which is a great addition to seeing the Komodo Dragons. The Rangers of Rinca are infinitely knowledgeable about the Komodo Dragon and are always happy to share their knowledge with you.The trekking time on Rinca Island usually ranges from 1.5 to 2 hours (including visiting the Education Center). Komodo dragons are not the only animals you can see here—keep your eyes out for monkeys, water buffalo, deer and an array of birds flying overhead! If you have already enjoyed the wonders of Rinca island on day 1, then the plan will be to complete 2 morning dives today!KLM Eliya will return to harbour around 14:30 pm on the final day. Breakfast and lunch are served as per usual after the first and second dive (or Dragon tour). Once back at the office in town, our staff will assist in settling any remaining payments and arranging taxis to your hotels or airport.

Vessel information
Eliya liveaboard is a 30-metre wooden phinisi operated by Scuba Junkie, combining traditional charm with contemporary comfort and modern safety features. After many hours of research and design, this vessel was lovingly handcrafted from the keel up by master ship-builders on the shores of Sulawesi. Not only is the carpentry exemplary as a result, it also means every aspect of this vessel’s construction has been completed with a diver’s needs in mind.
This vessel has capacity for a total of 14 guests in six custom-designed ensuite cabins with multiple sleeping configurations. Eliya’s four double/twin cabins feature both a king bed and a single bed, while the two shared cabins come furnished with three singles. Each cabin is fitted with air-conditioning and plenty of charging points for your electronic items.
Established in 2004, Scuba Junkie is a multi-award-winning dive operator that has steadily grown from humble beginnings to incorporate four resorts and one stand-alone dive centre spread over two countries. During this time, the operator has built and maintained an excellent customer-centric, safety-conscious, and environmentally friendly ethos. Eliya is one of the newest additions to the Scuba Junkie portfolio, providing six-day itineraries around the famous dive sites of Komodo National Park.
Onboard Eliya
Eliya liveaboard’s chefs have one purpose in mind, to provide guests with delicious Indonesian cuisine throughout their trip. Three main meals are served each day, along with a fine selection of snacks in between to keep energy levels up. Meals are typically taken in the alfresco dining area on the main deck. When it comes to relaxing, a semi-open lounge at the aft of the main deck comes equipped with tables, bench seating, and large day beds which provide sweeping views of the water. Guests will also find a bar here serving a selection of refreshing drinks. An additional open-air sundeck is located at the very top of the vessel.
Diving from Eliya
This phinisi’s diving deck is thoughtfully designed and comes with ample space for dive gear storage and equipment set-up. Additional facilities such as camera stations and charging points are also on hand for maximum convenience. Eliya is fitted with two Bauer compressors and a nitrox membrane system, ensuring suitably certified guests can enjoy nitrox fills at an additional cost. Equipment rental can also be arranged.

Conservation
Scuba Junkie was set up by people who have a deep love and respect for the underwater world and, throughout the many years that Scuba Junkie has been operating, conservation has remained at the very heart of the company.
The operator works with suppliers to reduce single-use plastics throughout its operations and offers free water refills both in resorts and on its boats. Eliya’s team also undertakes regular ocean clean-ups to remove waste that has already found its way into the environment. Unfortunately, Scuba Junkie cannot guarantee that the fish sold in Labuan Bajo is sustainably caught, and therefore does not serve seafood on board Eliya.
Scuba Junkie supports and works alongside the MMF (Marine Megafauna Foundation), collecting important data throughout each trip aboard Eliya, as well as hosting them for their research activities. The team also enforce strict environmentally-conscious guidelines during dives, including the correct ‘manta protocols’.
