Day 1: This morning, you will fly from the mainland of Ecuador to San Cristobal, Galapagos. Our guides will be there to greet you and escort you to the yacht. After getting settled in, we will have lunch and briefings, followed by a check dive at Isla Lobos, where you can expect to see sea lions. We will then sail to Marchena overnight.

Day 2: Punta Carrion is located on the island of Santa Cruz and provides a good first dive to acclimatise to Galapagos diving. Sometimes we even get lucky and see mola molas here. Seymour is the next stop, and is known for having great dives. Sightings include mobulas, white tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, and sometimes hammerheads. The vessel will then set sail for the remote Wolf Island.

Day 3: Diving begins early to pack 4 dives into a 12 hour day. Sightings include huge schools of hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, seasonal whale sharks, silky sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, fur seals, mantas, moray eels and dolphins. Some sites at Wolf are covered in coral and plenty of tropical fish species. Dive sites include Shark Bay, The Landslide, La Banana and Islote La Ventana. An optional night dive is also offered here where you can see garden eels and the red-lipped batfish on a sandy bottom.

Day 4: Today, you will have a full day of diving around the iconic Darwin Island, where we find more massive schools of hammerheads and huge, pregnant whale sharks in the right season.

Day 5: Enjoy 2 more dives at Darwin in the morning, followed by 1-2 more dives at Wolf in the afternoon. There is also an optional night dive at the Anchorage site. Anchorage has a sandy bottom where you may see garden eels and the red-lipped batfish.

Day 6: After an overnight sail, you will dive with feeding marine iguanas, as well as penguins and turtles at Cabo Douglas, followed by a mola mola cleaning station at Punta Vicente Roca. Here, it is not uncommon to also see endemic Galapagos bullhead shark, penguins, sea horses, sea lions, and endemic flightless cormorants.

Day 7: Search for seahorses, frogfish, octopus, turtles, and the elusive longnose hawkfish at Cousins Rock. It is also possible to spot pelagics here, including mantas, eagle rays, mobulas and hammerheads. We may do 1-2 dives here, depending on the mood of the divers. In the afternoon, we will head to the Santa Cruz Highlands to see the iconic Galapagos tortoise in its natural habitat.

After the Highlands, we descend into the largest town in Galapagos, Puerto Ayora. You may opt to visit the Charles Darwin Research Center in the Galapagos National Park or wander about town. We will then enjoy our farewell dinner at a restaurant in Puerto Ayora, before returning to Calipso and sailing to San Cristobal overnight.

Day 8: After breakfast, you will disembark onto San Cristobal.

Cancellation policy
All cancellations received up to 61 days before the departure date will be charged 10% of the total amount as administrative expenses. and the cruise can be rescheduled. When you buy a last-minute deal to the Galapagos Islands, the payment has to be the full amount upfront and without the option of a refund.
Cancellation of Cruises received within 60 days of the start will result in a forfeit of 100% of the payment as a cancellation fee.

Completely rebuilt from the keel up in 2019, Calipso liveaboard is a wonderfully contemporary yacht embarking on adventurous seven-night voyages in the Galapagos. From the motors, generators and compressors, to the cabins, saloon, dining area, dive deck and sundeck, everything on this vessel is brand new and modern. And, designed with diver comfort and efficiency in mind, this amenity-rich liveaboard is sure to impress.

Not content with offering just exceptional dive holidays, with Calipso Galapagos, guests can also add extra exciting extensions onto their trip. Visit volcanoes, hot springs and cloud forest in the Andes or trek through the mighty Amazon rainforest. Or, if you hate packing, this vessel alternates between diving and land-based naturalist cruises - so you can stay on board for two weeks and experience the best of the Galapagos, both above and below the water.

Calipso Galapagos is owned and operated by a family who are passionate about the Galapagos Islands, the ocean and conservation. The family are also involved in the widely respected Foundation for Alternative Responsible Development (FUNDAR) Galapagos as well as helping to export contaminants out of Galapagos for recycling on the mainland.

Onboard Calipso

This contemporary vessel accommodates up to 16 guests in eight ensuite cabins, each equipped with all the comfort of a hotel. Calipso liveaboard’s spacious salon and dining areas are tastefully furnished and offer amazing panoramic views on both sides. Meals can be taken here, or al fresco on the sun deck, and consist of a pre-dive continental breakfast followed by all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. International and Ecuadorian options are available, all prepared with fresh local produce and seafood. Alongside the large outdoor dining table, the sun deck also offers a bar and barbecue area, plenty of comfortable loungers and a Jacuzzi. Calipso Galapagos is also one of the only Galapagos Islands liveaboards with complimentary WiFi.

Diving from Calipso

Calipso liveaboard’s dive deck has been expanded for easy diving, featuring individual stainless steel diver stations with underneath storage. A bathroom, towel warming station and four hot showers are also available for maximum comfort. Underwater photographers will appreciate the rinse tank and three-tier table for camera maintenance, battery storage and charging. Nitrox is available at an additional charge and ScubaPro equipment can be rented on board, along with computers. Night diving is also available, so don’t forget your torch. Educational dive briefings are given by video, and all dives are done from two accompanying pangas.
