Day 1: Board the vessel in Sorong and start sailing.
Day 2-11:
Halmahera is a relatively new destination, so it is still a secret gem yet to be fully discovered. The diving is spectacular, but with fewer boats around. As the trips either start or finish in Sorong, you combine the spectacular dive sites of southern Halmahera with the world-class Raja Ampat, making this trip one of the best.
Drift dives full of action, vertiginous walls, stellar coral gardens, huge fish schools, top-class muck dives, and a handful of shipwrecks—there truly is something for everyone to enjoy on every single dive. This region was once the centre of the spice trade and has a rich history with Portuguese, Dutch, and Arab influence. The relics of this era abound with old colonial buildings in Ternate and forts scattered in the lush forests. It also has a volcanic landscape that is breathtaking and ever-changing.
Day 12:
On the last diving day, 2 dives are available in the morning whilst observing the rule of no diving within 24 hours of reaching altitude. We return to port and moor overnight. Evening is time to pack up diving equipment and settle any outstanding bills ready to depart the following morning.
