The island nation of Indonesia straddles the equator between the Indian and Pacific Oceans and lies at the heart of the ‘Coral Triangle’ - the epicentre of the world’s marine biodiversity. Nowhere on earth can visitors experience such a range of spectacular diving - from encounters with huge whale sharks and oceanic manta rays, to muck dives with beautiful Rhinopias and the exceedingly rare psychedelic frogfish.
A unique Maldives resort, Maafushivaru is an island that epitomizes all that one dreams of when thinking of the Maldives. With its small island charm, lush vegetation surrounded by powder-white soft sand, and a house reef that a myriad of tropical fish call home, Maafushivaru will help you make memories that will be forever cherished.
- The embodiment of the ‘no-shoes-no-news’ concept
- An exclusive nearby deserted islet, Lonubo Island
- Only 25 minute seaplane from Male International Airport
Located in the southern tip of the picturesque atoll of Ari, Maafushivaru is the embodiment of the ‘no-shoes-no-news’ concept that is famous amongst Maldives all inclusive hotels. The island offers you villas in three distinct styles, each combining elements of Maldivian architecture with stylish and chic finishing touches.
As is typical in the Maldives, the Reception, Library Lounge walkway and Water Bar are all sand floored. Going barefoot is the only way on this island.
Located in the same lagoon as Maafushivaru, just minutes away, is Lonubo, a stunning deserted islet, exclusively for the use of Maafushivaru guests. Here you can choose to while away your days or book a romantic lobster dinner for the evening, just the two of you, on your own private island for the night.
Thatch-roofed villas inspired by local architecture are either set amidst verdant gardens or poised over the turquoise lagoon. Deceivingly modest exteriors hide worldly comforts and indulgences and all villas offer direct access to the beach or to the sea.
Designed for couples seeking to rekindle their romance or for families looking to spend quality time together, Maafushivaru offers an experience that elegantly combines a Maldives from times-gone-by with the contemporary luxuries of the present, distinguishing it from other Maldives all inclusive resorts.
A stunning deserted island in the neighbouring lagoon, Lonubo Island is exclusively for the use of Maafushivaru guests. Your holiday on Maafushivaru will not be complete without at least one visit to this beautiful islet.
Daily morning and afternoon boat trips are organised on complimentary basis for those who wish to have a swim, a snorkel or simply take in some sun.
Come evening, you can book a private dinner or an overnight getaway, just for the two of you. To add on some romance, book a Lonubo Retreat which includes romantic couples spa experiences.
All villas at Maafushivaru are surrounded by abundant vegetation and located right beside the beach with sun loungers on a private deck facing the sea. Inside each spacious beach villa in Maldives you will find a range of modern facilities, offered to help you experience a memorable stay at one of the finest Maldives all inclusive resorts.
The bathroom is semi-open air with shower, and features an outdoor garden area with a rainfall shower made of stone.
These Maldives Pool Villas come with two separate villas, each with their own open air bathroom with rainfall shower. These villas offered by our Maldives all inclusive hotel are perfect for friends holidaying together. They have the same features as the Beach Villas with the addition of a private pool, shared between the two villas. Each Pool Villa has a shared entrance with a corridor and a separate dining pavilion.
On the beach side there is a deck with sunloungers.
These magnificent villas are built out over water and offer modern comforts along with stunning views of the lagoon. Each of our Water Villas in Maldives are completely private, being accessed by its own walkway from the main jetty.
The bathroom features a rainfall shower and a bath with hot and cold water and offers views of the ocean.
Outside is your own wooden deck with a seating area and sun loungers from where you can watch a myriad of different coloured tropical fish swimming by whilst you enjoy a relaxing drink from the mini-bar. Alternatively, you may wish to join them via the steps which lead down directly into the sea.
Their fully equipped PADI dive centre with enthusiastic multi-lingual instructors offers a wide range of underwater adventures catering for all levels from beginners to experienced divers. Beginners will become ‘hooked’ when they discover the amazing underwater world, while experienced divers are sure to see something new among the many types of sharks, mantas, turtles, napoleons, tuna and other smaller, but maybe more colourful, dwellers on the reef.
There are two dives each day, morning and afternoon, from on board a Maldivian dhoni. Night dives, half day and full day trips to sites further afield are organised regularly. In addition, a range of courses leading to PADI certification is on offer.
