First launched in 1998, the purpose-built M/Y Cyclone was refurbished in 2007 in line with its award-winning sister vessel - the Whirlwind. The 32 metre liveaboard accommodates up to 20 guests in 10 deluxe twin en-suite cabins with air conditioning and plentiful storage space. From the re-styled restaurant serving up exquisite cuisine, to the top deck jacuzzi and thoughtfully designed lounges, divers looking to dive, eat, sleep and repeat are in for a treat. The Cyclone is focused towards recreational divers with her large dive deck and platform, top quality rental gear and accompanying zodiacs. And with her expert crew and experienced dive team, divers are bound to enjoy a world-class liveaboard service to the iconic dive sites of the northern Red Sea.
The Tornado Marine Fleet has been a top choice for divers seeking luxury liveaboards in the Red Sea since 1989. The well-equipped, modern and luxurious dive vessels operate recreational and tec diving liveaboard trips with a team of carefully-selected expert crew and dive instructors that offer a full range of courses. Departing from Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and Port Ghaleb, divers can choose from exciting itineraries across the northern and southern Red Sea that are based on required skill level. Divers can explore the iconic reefs and wrecks of the Red Sea, where diverse marine species of all sizes and colours thrive at world-famous sites such as the Brothers Islands, Elphinstone and the Thistlegorm wreck. Escorted trips and special weeks including photography, wreck, tec, freediving and mini safaris are also available, in addition to private charters.
Onboard Cyclone
Up to 20 guests are accommodated in 10 stylish deluxe twin en-suite cabins with air conditioning and plentiful storage space. There are two twin cabins on the main deck, six twin cabins below decks and two bow cabins. The re-styled restaurant is located on the main deck, where seasoned chefs cook up exquisite dishes perfect for hungry divers. The bar is manned throughout the day and into the evening, and offers a variety of wines, beers and soft drinks - the perfect way to chill after your diving day. The spacious saloon provides a welcoming indoor relaxing space, and is equipped with a DVD player and plasma screen for guests’ entertainment, while the shaded sun deck is ideal for gazing over the Red Sea. On the top deck, you have the perfect tanning spot as well as a sumptuous heated jacuzzi.
Diving from Cyclone
The stylish vessel has been designed specifically for divers, with a huge dive deck equipped with individual gear lockers, a wetsuit drying area and steel ladders leading to the dive platform. Plus, to minimise disturbance from dive-related activity, guests are transferred to and from dive sites by two convenient zodiacs. There are up to three dives per day, and guests have access to high quality rental equipment and nitrox on board. Divers of all skill levels are assured a friendly yet premier service with the expert, multilingual dive team who offer various dive courses from entry-level upwards. And with their unrivalled expertise, you’ll enjoy superb diving at the best dive sites in the northern Red Sea, including one of the most famous shipwrecks on the planet - the Thistlegorm!
Top tips
- March to May and September to November are considered to be the best times to dive due to ideal weather and ocean conditions. But be aware that dive sites will be more crowded during these months.
